I just got this message when I applied for an Amazon Assoc account.
"I am sorry, but as of June 1, 2013, we will only be able to approve Facebook.com Fan Pages and/or Verified Twitter.com pages in the Associates program. All other social network sites are not eligible to add Associate links, or for use to create an Associates Account.
In reviewing your website, we noticed that youve applied with a social network website. However, your site isnt established with enough unique content and followers yet. "
I had read a previous problem applying for Amazon acct and they suggested instead of putting a link to your hubpage profile, do so for one of your hubs instead. So this is what I did. I had also read where there is no minimum requirement for them. So I'm a little confused as to why they rejected me. Do you have a better chance if you do write more and are here longer, because I am very new?
@JoyLevine The wording of that message also makes it sounds like you applied using a social media account like Facebook or Twitter.
You can find more details about the Amazon program application process here.

Apologies Matthew but I think you are behind the times, refer to the previous thread on this topic.
Since June 1 to get an Amazon account you have needed to provide a link to a specific hub and *not* to your profile.

Thanks.
I was using the information in the Learning Center.
I will follow up with Marina to get this clarified so we aren't saying one thing in the Learning Center and something else in the forums.
Marina followed up with Amazon and the info we got is that you should be able to use either. She updated the thread you mentioned.
You can find her updated post here.

You should use the URL for your profile page when applying, not an individual hub. And it's best to be more established first. One hub and only here for five days isn't sufficient for them anymore. As for the social networking site stuff- I don't know, I haven't seen that before. I wouldn't think HP is considered social networking...
So, yeah, I would wait until you are more established before applying for Amazon/ebay/AdSense/Etc.
Did they have any feedback on what caused the weird rejection emails several people got?
Thanks for the responses. I think I will just try to write more and apply again later. That's what confused me, because I read other replies that said it looked as if I had applied through a social network. But I went right off the Hubpage tutorial on it, and in fact, went straight to Amazon off the link from Hubpages.
Anyway, thanks.
I received the same email when applying (with 12 published hubs).
So I went and applied through a Facebook page that I have, and was accepted.
Then suddenly I received an email from Amazon yesterday, saying I was approved through HubPages - after they had already rejected me.
Now I'm also confused!
I would contact Amazon. From your account it sounds like you now have two accounts.
Does that mean that you have to apply for a different account for each different site you're using, i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Hubpages, etc.?
You should need only one Amazon affiliates account.

I'm kinda pissed and extremely dismayed. I've been with Hubpages and Amazon Associates for 5 years now and haven't made a dime with Amazon the entire time. I've reached out for help numerous times and not a single person told me that I have to get my Amazon links from the Amazon Associates website...

Every day (or almost every day), I go on to my Amazon Associates account to check stats. Today, I saw my income for the month to date had reduced from when I checked it yesterday. Thinking it was due perhaps to returns or simply a "blip", I went on a few times through the day and see it...
