   Junaid Ghani I always think that the people on hub-pages are wasting their precious time. Let's see how hub-lover would defend them! Your comments?

      I have wasted a lot of time here I guess, I would gladly waste my time anywhere where I have made over $30.000.....jimmy

   I fail to see why you feel so confident as to say that Hubbers are wasting their time if you  are basing your comments on your own experience; (4 hubs,10 months, 1000 views)

      I haven't made much money here, but have never felt like I've wasted my time.  I have learned a great deal, honed my writing skills, met wonderful people and am very proud of the work I've produced.  How could that possibly be considered a waste of time?

   I've earned 4 figures here too. Probably it has been 5 figures. With over 1 million views, I wouldn't say I've wasted my time either. I've met many new friends and learned a lot. That wasn't wasting my time. If you aren't earning money, you just need to research proper keywords and work harder.

   I don't think I have wasted my time here because my income from Hubpages has helped me pay some of my bills over the past year, plus buying a few presents for myself, too

   You have to factor in that those who feel negative about anything/situation tend to speak louder than the many who do not voice their opinions. I rarely start a thread here, but sometimes I am tempted to post a comment.  I think I am in 'the middle ground' which might be larger than a visit to the forums would suggest.

   I guess considering if HubPages a waste of time all depends on the reasons why you are here. Is it to make a quick dollar? Or do you have something useful to share that's meaningful to you? Of course, most people on HubPages want to make income, but there has to be another incentive. That incentive should be to share their thoughts and knowledge on topics that interest and mean something to them. For me, HubPages is not a waste of time. Although I am fairly new here and have not made much income, I enjoy sharing my interests with others and getting feedback and hope to reach more viewers eventually.

    I sincerely don't believe I wasted my time here as I have over 4 million views and have earned a good income from this site (into the $1000's) up until the last year or so. I therefore don't feel it 'was' a waste of time writing here, but right now do feel it 'is' a waste of time writing here, not least because the views are so decimated now that anything we write is likely to only get views from other Hubbers (short of Google having a lobotomy and all the SERPs changing in favour of HP again). Right now I am happy Bubbling on Bubblews which is paying far more

    I average somewhere around a dollar a hub a month. If I consider that it probably took me about four to six hours to create each hub, that ROI is a little low, but it does add up over time. I'm betting my hubs will continue to pay royalties to me for the forseeable future, or at least for several more years. If I don't write any more hubs, their income is currently enough to cover a couple of utility bills each month.
    
    I enjoy being able to write on a clean-looking platform that lets my articles look fairly professional. I enjoy being able to write on nerdy subjects and attract an actual audience for them, so that I know that someone is reading what I had to say. I enjoy the exercise of pulling my thoughts and research together on topics that interest me.
    
    I also learned something writing those hubs, because each and every article is an experiment on what does or doesn't work in online writing. By observing my traffic, I slowly gain more insights about web readership, which can help me in my approach on how to write and what to write in the future.
    
    Hubpages is part of my larger enterprise of supporting myself online, freeing me to write fiction. It is also enormously helpful for someone with chronic health issues, since I'm able to have a flexible work schedule.
    
    In sum, the ROI is a bit on the low side, but not a waste.

       It always amazes me when people talk about getting hundreds of thousands or even millions of views.  When I check their articles, they don't seem much different from my own, and yet....nonetheless, I love being here and hope HP can continue on and maybe even return to its former glory one day.
