Now the US Government is using charities to pay the benefits.

So the Pentagon is now taking charitable contributions to make good on its' promise to pay dependents of KIA service men and women.

From what I read there is provision to make these payments based on a bill passed last week.(just read the bill - 2 pages and clearly allows these payments) But the administration has determined not to do so. Looks like they are blaming the lawyers. Obama may be a good guy. But he is just a terrible leader. He is clearly leading his administration against the people.

Party politics are doing what they are suppose to do as set forth in our Constitution. I do not like it but so be it. But this is just downright lousy leadership. Obama has options and he is choosing really bad ones to punish the people.

This is like a family on a tight budget and the dad declares we have no money for milk but my beer budget remains intact. Paying politicians before paying deceased military servicemen families is disgusting. This cannot be laid on Congress.

I can think of nothing more important to the function of government and honoring our troops than the President's golf game.  Despite the "shutdown" ( only 17% of government functions have actually been shut down) His Petulency has commanded that the golf course at Andrews Air Force Base remain open so that this vital and essential function of the Sun King's government can continue.

Well, turns out this administration doesn't approve all charitable contributions. The Fishers offered to loan the money but Republican Billionaire Sheldon Adelson's Offer to pay Military Death Benefits - with no strings attached was turned down. The administration said thanks but NO THANKS! Seems this administration's specialty really is growing the debt.

Dem Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee Suggests Martial Law to End Government Shutdown

Easily, she is part of an elitist coterie that sees the American people as an inconvenience that must be managed.  If an internment camp is necessary, so be it.  If the seizure of property is necessary, so be it.  If narrowing and regulating the FREE PRESS is necessary, so be it.  If rounding up Jews...you get the point.

Kinda ironic that you make that rant considering the governor of Maine (Tea Fiesta affiliated may I add) already declared martial law in that state.

Cool.  How does that change things in Indiana?  It doesn't but the unlimited power of the FEDERAL - repeat - FEDERAL - government is a threat to everyone's liberty.  Let the people of Maine do as they will, apparently the notion of FEDERALISM is still a mystery to lefties.

So it's OK if states take away the freedom of their citizens...

If the people of Maine are stupid enough to put up with massively intrusive government, so be it.  Given the tendency of Maine voters, it appears they are also  enthusiastic about massively intrusive FEDERAL government.  It is the FEDERAL government imposing Maine's insanity on Indiana that is most objectionable.  Just as the FEDERAL government imposing Massachusetts' insanity on the whole country hiding behind the excuse that if Romeny liked FORCING everyone in Massachusetts to  buy health insurance it must be a good idea for EVERYBODY in America to be FORCED to buy health insurance.

Check out Maine's martial law history of late. It was the United Nations -- WHO that required a martial law be imposed recently. That is pretty goofy except for NPR which just got fully funded during the shutdown. 450K for NPR and hold back death benefits for the Military ---- cool huh!!

Not the point.....if its not OK to take the liberty of people anywhere, then it must be a bad thing to take away the liberty of the citizens of Maine. I thought the Tea Fiesta was all about personal liberty? Just not in Maine?

If you would stop changing the subject, you would realize how stupid it is to blast a Democrat who *suggested* martial law while somehow glossing over a government that *invoked* martial law.

Considering the political affiliation of each it would appear that the real threat to liberty is elected Democrats.

Maine had martial law over the flu epidemic in 2009. Real and not pretend. http://www.maine.gov/tools/whatsnew/ind … ticle-2008

An emergency law such as this invokes Martial Law. But nothing today over the slimdown.

Sheila Jackson Lee? Yeah, now there's an informed Congresswoman and speaker for the Democrap party! She, said  "All those who wore sheets a long time ago have now lifted them off and started wearing [applause], uh, clothing, uh, with a name, say, I am part of the tea party..."

It is sad and embarrassing.  The efforts by this administration to exploit the situation and make the people suffer anyway they can in hopes that the Gop will be blamed, when other options are available, and by their discretionary choices and implementation, is so transparent, I have to believe those who say they don't see it are just denying it.  Nobody can be that gullible, can they?

    1. psycheskinner profile image84

The won't introduce a clean budget, even though if they did it would pass the house.  So blaming them strikes me as quite logical.

Only a budget that is clean should be considered by the Senate? What a great term. Somebody is eating the pablum.  37% approval rating for the president should suggest that privately even Pavlovs' dogs are balking at the admin.

"Clean" as in give us what we want before we talk about what you wanted and how you didn't get any of it because we refused to do our jobs and negotiate with you?  You do know "clean" would pretty much be unprecedented in government, right?  They gave them a way to fund almost everything, but dems refuse to even negotiate.

'Dollar valueless, about to crash' - World Bank whistleblower

Yes - she does not name names and she claimed 10 corporations but does not name one. She speaks only in accusations and theory not facts. I am interested that the Jesuits own and control all Chinese currency. Her demeanor was short of breath and jerky which is more consistent with other qualities than truth. Her apparent association is only with herself. No need to debunk the story, the lady lacks credibility and is an attention hound. No doubt brilliant but disoriented Xs 3.

I'm not a right-winger by any means (I see myself as more of a left-of-center, like most Canadians), but I was pretty disappointed by Obama. Now it's really sad to see that the government isn't willing to pay benefits to all the people who signed up to get shot at.
