Two days ago someone bought a used truck through my E-Bay ad. I about fell over when I saw this. I'm glad I didn't delete my E-Bay ads. smile Happy day!

Good for you!!! I'm happy for you. I haven't had much success since eBay switched how they do things, but I have kept a few eBay capsules here and there, just in case. It doesn't hurt, right?

That's an amazing buy for you! I hope the commission was good.
I once made 28 sales on a recipe hub!

Good to know.  In over two years I haven't made a sale on ebay but I guess I'll keep plugging!

Congrats to you Gchroads64! That is fantastic. That's the type of lottery I'm waiting for with the couple hubs I kept  eBay capsules in, hoping I'll get a hit. Unfortunately, it's not a car but any hit will do. smile

Thanks, everyone. It will probably never happen to me again, but it was thrilling.

Now THAT would be nice.  I have a hub about buying a RV online - wonder what the commission would be on a $50,000 motorhome?

I think you only get $25 on the sale of vehicles. But that's enough to buy a great turkey for Thanksgiving!

Huh!  I've made 4 times that from a single Amazon sale.  I'll keep my Amazon capsules, thank you very much, and the eBay can remain in the trash.

It was a bit more than that.

Did they give you the normal commission? The last I heard was from someone who had a used car sale and the car was worth about $10,000 but he only made $25.  Has this changed now?

Congratulations! I haven't had any sales from my ebay capsules. Hopefully, someday it will generate me some pennies.

I am busily writing a Rolls Royce Phantom hub as we speak...

There are a lot of those for sale on eBay!  I still don't understand how the commission is calculated for automobiles, though.  They have changed the commission structure for cars and I can't find the most recent information.  Why don't you include a few Rolls Royces under your famous alias in your new Hub and let us know how that works out.

I also tried looking for the commission information. eBay has hid it well.

Just found out I've been making eBay sales and didn't know it. I haven't really checked those reports before. If I have, it's been a long time and I didn't give it much attention. The eBay thing definitely seems to pay.

I have yet to make an Amazon sale, but have made a few E-bay sales.

Wow! I'd definitely keep eBay active... I am not a part of eBay's program. I do use Amazon's and have yet to reach the $10 minimum. Very close though. Now, since I've not yet reached the $10 and it's been a number of years I wonder is it worth it to try and join eBay's program as it's pretty much the same thing?

It's not the same thing.  For both of them, the visitor has to buy something for you to make commission.  They have 24 hours to complete the sale.

The big difference with eBay is that many of your capsules will be for auction items, and those auctions probably don't end same day.  For those, eBay won't pay you commission for the sale UNLESS the visitor bids within the first 24 hours.

So, for instance, a visitor clicks on an item and finds the auction still has three days to run.  Most people know it's not a good idea to show your hand early in an auction - so he doesn't bid, instead he 'watches' the auction and bids on the last day.  He wins the auction - but you get nothing, because his first bid wasn't within that first 24 hours.

I'm doing quite well on my websites since the eBay commissions changed, but that's because I've changed all my sites to show "Buy it Now" items only.  I use specialist eBay software which is used by several big affiliates and they all gave me that advice.  I wish HubPages would consider doing the same.

I had a quick look at your Hubs and can't see many Amazon modules, so perhaps it's no wonder you're not earning from them!

Many of your Hubs don't lend themselves to Amazon or eBay because there are no products which would be relevant enough.  However, I did find several with potential.

On your recipe Hubs, remember that Amazon sells ingredients. For instance, on one Hub you have images of Aji-Mirin rice wine and Kaniwa grain.  If you made those Amazon capsules instead, you'd probably sell some Aji-Mirin rice wine and Kaniwa grain, because people need them to make your recipe!

Your Creative Gift Ideas Hubs is crying out for Amazon capsules - you're giving people ideas for gifts you can make yourself, but no resources on how to get started.  Amazon has quilt-making kits, greeting card kits, photo and scrapbooking albums, collage frames etc.  You could almost split that Hub up into several Hubs, go into more detail about how to tackle each project, then do your research so you can recommend the best kits/equipment on Amazon to do the job.
