New, red, down-arrow and all that.

Specifically, it suddenly seemed important to tell us that, "Recommended ad formats. Switching to recommended ad formats can lead to an increase in revenue."

This is just an fyi in case there really is something suddenly going on. smile

I've seen this red arrow, then green dot, then something else. I think it just changes on its own. I can never understand how to actually change our own ad formats/sizes. I concluded that HubPages just decides the sizes.

Yep, all things ads are entirely HP's domain.

    Update, 11:05 am, HP time.

My traffic is normal. But my ad-impression totals are unusually low.

Alright..., beginning to think something is truly amiss. 11:40 am, HP time.

As a sanity check, I checked my stats for yesterday.

All was well. When taking into account the usual "static", the 60% ads of the total traffic was readily apparent.

With today's stats, that number is currently 42%.

Now obviously HP didn't suddenly knock down the percentage they are paying us from 60% to 40%.

So, the only alternative I can think of is that some of the ads aren't being displayed when/where they should be for some glitch-induced reason?

    6:38 pm HP time.

The Google squawk is still there.

The impression percentage is still in the low 40's.

The earnings still less than a third of normal.

Even if this is just a case of the stats needing to play catch up, that still doesn't explain the google scorecard revenue-optimization perturbations.

I hope I haven't messed up my subdomain somehow... This being an ad-related issue, don't see how though.

DAY 2, 6:45 am, HP time.

Google scorecard is still ranting about HubPages' ad-formatting problems.

I do not consider my yesterday's decimated earnings to be just a coincidence.

Leastwise my ad-impressions have crept up to 50% from 42%.

So far, it looks like today is going to be an encore of yesterday.

If there is some sort of HubPages problem going on, I hope HP is aware of it and is in the process of fixing it. The issue might be the mobile ads, but not sure.

I was dearly hoping to reach payout by the end of the month, but a couple more days of this and I'm dead in the water.

      Paradigm,

From my understanding when I first signed up, our revenue from the ads fluctuates between 40% and 60%.  Sometimes the 40 is on our side, and 60 HP's, and sometimes it's 60 us and 40 HP. And any range of that in-between.

      Maybe my understanding is wrong.

You get 100% of the revenue 60% of the time. http://hubpages.com/faq/#impressions

    DAY 3, 7:46 am HPT

Well, the AdSense scorecard is still hopping up and down about switching to recommended ad formats.

However, my yesterday's ad impressions percentage and earnings total have wandered back into the totally normal range. Hopefully today will continue to be the same.

    Happy Friday!
