Do YOU believe that Liberalism/Progressivism in American society will

   eventually destroy itself?  Do YOU further believe that Liberalism/Progressivism is destroying American society? If so, how?   If not, do YOU believe that if it weren't for Liberalism and Progressivism, American society would not be as democratic as it is?   Rather yet, do YOU believe that American society is not Liberal/Progressive enough and what steps would YOU to ensure that there is further liberalization and progressivism in American society?

      I lean libertarian. I think both extreme conservatism and extreme liberalism are causing major, major problems. Politics seem to have become more of an issue of taking sides and playing verbal dodge ball and people on neither side are really listening to the other or seeking to find solutions or common ground.
      
      I think the best thing anyone can do right now is break this 2-party system tug-of-war for control and vote libertarian.

      Words are so very important. More important is definition and how ones uses the word and in what context. Awesome, for example, has come to mean just about anything, which is a contradiction to its definition. I find such words as Liberalism/Progressivism and democratic/democracy have come to mean whatever an individual wants them to mean, as referring to ones shirt, as awesome.
      Defining liberalism; "belief in the value of social and political change in order to achieve progress."
      I think it is only fair, with reference to the definition, that one define the "progress" that is hoped for. With that we can have a meaningful discussion.
      My experience with, self proclaimed, liberals is that there is no real understanding of the, "progress" that is hoped for or, as all things have a history, the history of such "progress". For the most part liberalism is no less a minor introductory form of socialism. Socialism is an  introduction to Marxism, Nazism, Fascism and all of which are totalitarian. Do I believe that this is bad for America? No. It is devastating to America and to the world. It is destruction to the concept and practice of "Individual Freedom."
      I do not think it is possible to claim to be an American if one embraces the ideals of socialism. It is a contradiction in terms.
      To ensure the advancement of liberal/socialistic/Marxist/totalitarian ideals we need to promote race hatred, as we are doing. We need to  further divide American society by sexual orientation, protectionist rights for this or that group over the majority. Degrade our education system with unions and collective and globalist instruction. We need to continue the Marxist chant of social and financial inequality, continue to demonize wealth and business. it would also be helpful to continue the vilification and emasculation of the male and the destruction of marriage and the family unit. Nationalize banks, health care, the insurance industry and industry, but then we are doing that. Oh yes. it would be extremely helpful if we pandered to the lowest common denominator in all areas, but we are doing that too. This may be a suggestion though, how about we continue the flow of illegal immigration to further to dilute a weak work force, expand government control, promote diversity, embrace all other cultures, except our own. We must also lie to the people, as, "You can keep your doctor." And we must continue to promote the idea that  American was and is a bad idea, that the people are to stupid and weak to take care of themselves. Let us replace a husband with the government, let us replace the loyalty and bonds of a family with the strings of government and religious belief with government omnipotence.
      There is more we can and are doing, but all and all we are pretty much abiding by that axiom of, "Democracy is the only road to socialism." "Socialism is the only road to Marxism/totalitarianism.

      All forms of government try to fix a problem that can't be fixed with laws. If people will not obey the laws of God, why would they obey the laws of mere humans?
      
      I put all my trust in the Lord, not a broken system run by broken men.
      
      Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

   I think a democratic society is at its best when there is a balance between conservative and liberal forces. Without liberalism, we'd be in the dark ages. Without conservative forces juxtaposed against them we'd be bankrupt. I think, progressivism is not limited to liberalism. Sometimes, progress involves recognizing mistakes and stepping back because the step you previously took was a misstep. Change isn't always for the good, nor does a step back land you in the same position. It is still change for, what the majority believes to be, the best interests of society; which classifies as progress toward a more equitable society.
