   room for extreme conservatism which is anti-progressive.  Governor Cuomo asserted that New York is a progressive state, further remarking that extreme conservatism has NO place in the great state of New York.  Governor Cuomo maintained that New York is a progressive state and that New Yorkers are a progressive people. Governor Cuomo indicated that conservatives should leave New York as conservative thinking and policies are out of place in New York.  Governor Cuomo is a strong advocate of and proponent for the rights of women, LBGT people, and other marginalized people.  Let's discuss this.

      You know how irritated liberal folks get when far right conservatives tell folks that if you don't like America, then leave?  Sorta sounds like Cuomo is basically telling New Yorkers the same thing.  I don't care for the tone, personally, and I'm neither a far right conservative or a far left liberal.  I'm one of those crazy fools who think that truth, acceptance, and peace can be found in the middle where more people are concerned about people than policy.
      
      That's just my take on it.  Progress is an amazing thing, but not everything that some wish to conserve is all that terrible.  As a matter of fact, somewhere along the way, what we call conservative ideals were hot button issues of progress in their own day.

      Just another example of the extreme intolerance some people hold for those who have different cultures or life styles. It isn't a good sign. The US isn't nearly as bad as many countries, but people who say things like this have shown themselves to be bigots. Wait, does that last statement make me a bigot too?

   I don't see why they can't do that - become another California.  Progressive all the way, although can't pay the bills and people are deserting in droves.  Hospitals and clinics shutting their doors from illegal alien overload, but still progressive.  I guess, anyway - doesn't sound like progress to me, when the hospitals close their doors and there's no medical care available, but I'm not liberal either.

      Yup, all those illegals coming in from Toronto. If anything, people are more likely to go there for health care.

         Couldn't really say.  I've heard both ways - that if you can't afford US care, go to Canada, and if you CAN afford US care, go there.  Personally, I suspect there is a grain of truth and a lot of exaggeration in both statements.

            A friend's husband used to work in a hospital near the border, in America.  He and his wife lived in a vacation spot where people skied a lot.  There were a lot of injuries.  He said that Canadians would extend their stay in America when they were injured, because they could get quicker health care here, even emergency health care.  It's merely anecdotal evidence, but I believe him. 
            
            When you hear about medical advancements, do you hear about Canada?  If I had to have life-saving surgery, I'd take America over Canada any day of the week.  This doesn't imply that I believe our health care system is perfect or that Canada's is poor.  In fact, I believe that our system has many problems.  Quality of care is not really one of the major problems though; cost of care and availability of insurance should be our primary concern in America.  Oddly enough, even President Obama seems to agree with that assessment based on the intent of Obamacare.

               That's the indication I get as well; we have very quick and good quality care, but it is very expensive as well.  Canadians come here for speed and occasionally for advanced care they cannot get in Canada.

   Yeah, we all want to go to Canada if we need a serious surgery. . .I mean don't we all hear about the droves of Americans who travel to Canada for the best health care in the world?
