Define being busy and being productive. What drives either

It's quite easy to stay busy without in anyway ever being productive. And it gets easy just trying to keep the mind occupied without ever solving any issues. And I hear entrepreneurs saying they are spending all their time "working on their passive income to retire early". No billionaire has ever stopped working. They just moved to upper management. They learned the difference between being productive and being busy. But how do you calm an over active mind? Maybe the secret is not in seeking contentment. Nobody can ever be content forever. Everyone gets restless. Seeking excitement is key. When you feel excitement I believe it is a huge indicator you are being productive. And when you are excited and productive, your over active mind calms by its focus instead of just constantly overheating and crashing. My random thought as I drink an afternoon coffee.

People like you say seek excitement, but i reckon it's only because their not content....Billionaires keep working/chasing more power/money, because again their not content, & what's more is they never will be....I'm pretty sure you can't buy contentment, or store it in a bank account....For example my ego which isn't the real me, will try to think of many things that might make me happy or excited etc...It won't however be able to tell me how to find contentment, & in my opinion contentment has to be felt.....Believe me you can seek excitement forever, & your'l never be content it's totally contradictory....The secret is seeking contentment, but hardly anyone does it.....They chase money/fame/celebs/possessions etc, they never ask themselves through meditation what they really need/want in life....I found out i didn't want to be rich/famous etc anymore, & i'm going for contentment now....Which doesn't mean i don't still get happy or excited often because i do, but i now see what happiness/excitement are, their temporary states which can't become permanent, whereas contentment is permanent & worth looking for chasing pursuing, but you've got to know where to start.

That's quite a thought provoking reply. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

My pleasure buddy this is all relatively new stuff for me, & i'm still trying to grasp it all so i like to post & remind myself....As far as finding contentment in life, i reckon there's a few layers to contentment....Obviously if i was to fall in love, i would be content that this was going to be my only girl friend ever again....However i would only be in love, & not content....What job would get me up on a cold Monday morning?....If i found my passion in life & then did it as a job, again i would be content that this is what i want to work as until i don't need to work, but again i'd just love my job....But if i filled my entire life up with things i loved to do, & wouldn't want to change any of it that would be contentment.....BUT!lol, only if along the way, i did my best for others around me etc.....If i had & did all that in my life i would be content, & wouldn't need anything else....Sounds like a lot but we do it over a lifetime, like Bruce Lee said: "it's continuous growth".....My point being how much would it all cost?, i say you can't buy these things you have to find them....I'm not saying it's easy to find the things we love, but it's easy to see what it shouldn't be so we just work from there.
