Camping - what's the problem?

Sometimes I see people have a real hissy fit about people camping on the other team. I struggle to see the problem with campers. If someone is camping and they shoot me as I run past, it's MY fault that I didn't check the place where someone was hiding. In any case, I just sneak up on them when I respawn*.

*-and get shot again. Boohoo. It's just a game.

You make a good case for something that has something to do with camping.

I find that if you're working in a decent squad, if you tell a squad member near you that someone just shot you from the bushes on the left (for example) then they will watch out or perhaps flank the camper.

If I've said that once, I've said that... You're not actually talking about taking the lives of campers are you?

In this case, BF3 but I guess it applies to any game where there are campers. smile

After 2045, Battlefield just became a game for campers. The maps are just plain oversized past the ridiculous. It's Call of Duty where it's pretty sad to be camping. Honestly speaking, if you don't have the skills to aim your weapon properly without spending a day in a corner, there's no point in playing. Campers are trying to overglorify 1 stat and don't realize the other 9 suck. I've never had an issue beating campers, they all suck, period. But it's just pathetic to see someone with maximum prestige, 20 days of game time, a 2-8 KDR and have:
    -Average 2-4 kills per game
    -0.001 win/lose ratio
    -5% accuracy
    -8 kills per hour online.
-3 games per hour (games are usually 15 minutes long)

And these aren't exaggerations, depressingly enough. Campers are already fools, but for them to talk so much crap, it's just plain pathetic. In the last year, 90% of reported "hackers" were reported by people who just camp the whole game, and lose. (Statistics thanks to Treyarch staff.)
The problem isn't the fact that they are like children who never learned to walk because they didn't want to, the biggest problem nowadays is them having such a big head with nothing to really brag about.

Right, it's less skillful but you appear to be really bothered by it. Why is that?

You've written a lot but I'm not sure it answers my question. You dislike them boasting? You dislike their lack of skill? (Is the latter really a problem?)

They are just loud and annoying, bragging about something they don't have. How much is that not apparent? I merely added stats to merely make a point, nothing more.
I can care less if they want to give the victory to me, whatever. If I'm going to spend my time on something, I choose to do it well. I've already given up on our currently "developing" society of lazy idiots. Granted, that's only in America.

            Correction: The entire western hempisphere.

Haha. Right. I've not seen them boasting on BF3 about that.

I just see a lot of people whining about camping but not saying what's wrong with it (on BF3). I find campers makes it easier for others to find them and stick a knife in their chest. http://youtu.be/lp99hd-UBsU?t=32s

As stated right at the beginning of my first response, Battlefield, after its 3rd installment, 2045 (or 42,I no longer have the game), just became a game for nothing but campers. So no one's exactly going to brag about it to a community where 95% of players do the same thing.

I'm not sure that's really the case. You do get snipers but most people will push forward (if only because if everyone camped, it'd be boring). I suppose in some maps where there are bottlenecks ("Metro"), you'll get more camping but that's just holding a line I suppose. BF3 has "Rush" maps which encourage pushing forward if your team is to win.

                  (I went straight from BF2 to BF3.)

Try playing Call of Duty sometime, and you'll see what I mean. In the smallest rush maps (like Nuketown), people will sit in a corner the whole game. Rush maps don't do anything for people who truly are committed to not learning how to shoot. As for snipers, that's a different story. Campers are people who have to hide with weapons other than a sniper rifle. Almost everyone nowadays just camps. Skilled players have become the minority in the last 3 years.

I tend to do it alot to those idiots. They removed Hardcore Free For All last year from the games, so we can only have Core now, and that includes killcams of the person who kills you. And, of course, the final killcam. Nothing says "FU" like a good t-bagging right before you shank 'em.

darrensurreyposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Haha. We don't get that in BF3. You only see what they do afterwards if it's on softcore mode. On hardcore mode, you won't even see where they are.

Hardcore, you only have a final killcam, in CoD. That's about it. A lot of people lose the game or almost lose it every time it comes to the last killcam because they tend to try to do stupid trick shots or whatever. People are really dumb sometimes. Thank god we kicked those people out of our clan.
