On driving traffic to this site!

   I cam across a listing on ebay listing which offers Mass Targeted Traffic-Video Tutorials ++for HubPages plus a number of youtube videos.   The listing is translated into at least five languages as far as I can see and clearly there are takers.   No wonder we get targeted by spammers.  Is this condoned by HubPages?

   I imagine that such shenanigans would be a major no-no and therefore would likely cause anyone who tried this method to be banned from HP and/or lose their AdSense accounts.

      There is someone on here with the same name, no featured hubs, no followers,  joined two months ago.  I could follow him on google+ if I were so inclined,  which I am not.   He posts his  ebay ads for earning money from HubPages on Pinterest and Youtube.

   You can talk HubPages, Pinterest, YouTube and AdSense until you are blue in the face, but if you want to shut this person down, you have to determine how what they are selling violates eBay rules.

      I was not even considering whether or not they were violating any ebay rules - was more interested to know whether selling cd's on how to increaser traffic to HubPages was acceptable or not!

         In the UK you can sell information products on eBay, on CD, so that in itself would be permissible. Not quite sure what the rules are in the US.
         
         I've just seen, what I think is the listing and, in principle, I don't see how a CD, which may legitimately give good SEO advice, on driving traffic to your website, or Web 2 site, is a problem. It is effectively a tutorial, if I'm looking at the same listing. There are also several similar products for Squidoo.
         
         A problem arises if a Hubber follows the advice, and it is blackhat or breaches HubPages terms and conditions. Then, it may result in the Hubber being banned. Also, I am not entirely certain of the ramifications of referring to Hubpages, which is a registered service mark. However, that would be a matter for the site owners and I'm guessing, given the volume of such products, it may not be a priority for them.
         
         There is plenty of free and good advice, already shared on Hubpages, as to how you can make your Hub more successful...so no CD needed would be my view.

      If you look at the listing Relache, I don't actually think they're selling a service, just an information product on a CD....assuming I'm looking at the correct listing of course!

         You're asking that question in one of the worst places to ask.  We're in the forums, in a random category, in a thread with a title that gives no indication that anyone is having a problem.  If you want to find out what admin thinks, you are going to have to send the URL of the offending auction directly to the team. 
         
         Don't be surprised if they tell you they don't approve, and that there's absolutely nothing they can do about it, or if they even tell you to deal with it if you want something done about it.  That's been their standard response for this sort of thing no matter what form it's taken for the last almost-eight years.

            Thanks, I have no interest in purchasing the item myself and I only came by the listing by chance.  I was just curious to know if this was acceptable practice.    I trust your advice and am regretting having asked the question now.

   I don't know what exactly is being sold on ebay, Sally, and I don't personally have any interest in finding out. However if it was giving good advice about how to drive traffic to hp it might actually be useful to some hubbers ... so I can't see that the concept itself is something to be afraid of.
   
   There is a significant difference between a 'website traffic-driving service' and a product that tells you how to attract (or drive) traffic to your own website. There's not really anything wrong with instructional manuals, if that's what it is.
   
   BTW, it has occurred to me that the product you mention might be written by a hubber who knows what they are talking about, but chooses to use a name and second hp account for its sale.
   
   In theory, more traffic to hp is not a bad thing as far as I can see.  I'm not sure why you think it is linked with spammers, but I haven't seen the ebay listing.

   The best thing you can do is report that auction to eBay.  It is illegal according to their rules, and they have a checkbox form to use which makes it easy.
