Do you believe using banners and other graphics to split your hubs into sections helps when it comes to the layout score on your hub? I find the generic headings pretty boring and can make up some pretty nice headings myself. What is your opinion?
I think HP staff refers to them as graphic dividers. As others have mentioned, HP staff have said on the forum that they discourage using them, but they can be done tastefully to enhance an article's readability. If you want to use them, it's helpful to know the width of a full-width image is 520 pixels, so if you upload an image divider bar, make it at least that wide so you don't run into pixelation issues with scaling.
I like splitting my hubs into sections to make them more readable and so that people can find specific information. I write about gardening and if someone is just interested in how to prune a particular plant or organic pest control for a specific pest, they can easily find those sections in the relevant hub saving them time. My long-term strategy is by concentrating my hubs in a niche (gardening) making them easy to read and easy to find information that people will come back to my hubs whenever they have a gardening question.
I agree. I think it helps more keywords come up in searches too.
I like them when they are done tastefully, but they can be overdone. HubPages does not like them.
If you do this on your Hubs, you will continually receive automated warnings to not do so.

This morning I stumbled over more than a couple of "Editor's Choice" Hubs which are blatantly using images they do not appear to have the rights to use. Since HP is pushing Editor's Choice as the very best of this site, so much so that they are giving people who opt into the program some...

Hi Matt. When HP moved all subdomains back to the main domain, I expected EC banners would be restored to hubs that previously held them (before choosing to opt out of EC and keep all hubs within subdomains.) So far, no sign of them. Is this a technical issue? Banners used to be restored, but...

If you have not seen the post its here - http://blog.hubpages.com/2011/05/followers-hub-traffic/It seem to discuss / declare that the more followers you have, the more traffic you will get to your hubs. But the stats displayed stops at a very vague 50+ followers (get 102 hub views per month). There...

I'm just wondering as a newbie here (four weeks yesterday, if my math is right ) if it's common practice for hubbers to write hubs with the intent of ridiculing or tearing apart other hubbers? I've recently experienced this and handled it in my own way well enough (I think--I posted a rebuttal...
