Let's Get the Traffic Going Again

   My suggestion is to use referral links to the pages of other writers and share this with friends on social media that would like them or share with Yahoo groups that like the subject. This will help Hubpages, the other writer and yourself. Don't forget that you get 10% of the income earned. With the holidays coming up, some of your friends might like some spooky Halloween stories, recipes for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, craft ideas for gifts and Christmas stories in December.
   
   If you are new here or came over from Squidoo, you just get the link with your referral code by going to the bottom of the page and clicking on "link to this page." A box will come up where you can just copy and paste the link.
   
   Some sites like Pinterest won't allow the referral links, but I've used them at Facebook and Yahoo groups. Give it a try. It will help your earnings if they are low right now.

            Those are good, but you won't earn anything using them. If you share on Bubblews with those, they are good though, since Bubblews won't let you use a referral link.

      Good idea. I do share others' Hubs with the referral link periodically, but I think I'll make a point of it now.

      Great idea, Barbara. Actually, I published a Hub yesterday that specifically dealt with copyright law and issues that a close friend of mine had experienced online recently. I pasted a link into both Facebook and LinkedIn, and my friend also put a link on her blog. Stat reporting was lagging yesterday, but by this morning, I had better results than usual for the first 24-hour period on a Hub. Additionally, the traffic sources for most of those hits are undefined, which means they are coming from bloggers or other referrals not tracked by HubPages. I'll be interested to learn tomorrow whether this is translating to any additional income or not.

            Just use the link at the very bottom of the hubpage you are reading.(I think it says "link to this page) Once you click on it a popup will come up. Copy the url in the popup. It already has your personal tracker in it. Paste it wherever you want to share it. You will receive 10% of the earnings that the traffic you send receives.
            
            You will be able to view the traffic, but the earnings are just thrown in with your other earnings. To see the traffic, go to the earnings page and on the second line at the top it says Referral Trackers. Click on that and it will tell you. There are pages here that tell you how to use referral links, if I didn't explain it good enough.

   A question, when we pin an article that uses a photo from flickr, etc, do we need to include the original photo owner's link in the pin description? Or is the link in the hub itself enough?
   
   I think it's probably the first, but I wanted to double check.

      If it is licensed to use freely, I pin it with the Hubpages url. This is a good question though and I wonder what others think about it.
