Hubbing while Lacking Experiences

   (I hope 'hubbing' is a colloquial verb. If it is not, I just made a major fool of myself.)
   
   I created a Hubpages account a few days ago. Since then, I've written three Hubs. Two are published and there is a third in QA. While I do have a couple more ideas for hubs, I'm realizing I have a problem. Unlike many people I've read on the site, I have little life experience.
   
   I don't mean that I have not done anything notable with my life. I mean that most of the things I've done aren't that interesting or were caused by other people. I'm worried I might run out of ideas for good hubs on topics that are different. What should I do?

      Oh, you don't need much experiential knowledge to write intelligent, popular hubs. For many of my hubs, I researched a subject I was interested in, found some great youtube videos to go with it, and put together an attractive article. In fact, it's those hubs that bring in the most traffic for me. I didn't know a great deal about some of the topics before researching them.
      
      Also, `Good Guy' has given some useful advice above. When I was writing more often here, I had a list of hub topics that I kept adding to as life threw up various questions.

      I get my ideas from many places, one of which is from the Q and A section here, and another is from something someone might say on the forums.  Also, as I go through my day, if I see or hear something of interest, I try to turn it into an article.  It is amazing how much you can make of one simple sentence someone says or one line you hear or read somewhere.
      
      Pay attention to what people are doing and you will get a million ideas.  Heck, just sitting on a bench at Walmart and watching the people come and go is plenty of fodder for good articles!
      
      Give it time...you'll make it work.

      Welcome to HubPages! I see you've received some great suggestions here. I'll just add that you probably have more experience than you think. Even if you don't consider yourself an "expert" in something, it's likely that you can offer a lot of valuable insight. Where do you live? Use that for inspiration (articles like "What It's Like to Live in a College Dorm" are both useful and helpful). Do you cook? Share your favorite quick and easy meals. Get creative. I bet you'll be surprised at how much you have to offer your readers.

         I have to admit I put some of my ideas away because they'd been written about by several other people. I might try writing those, though.

            You may have a different take on those topics so ho ahead and write them. I have many hubs on similar topics others have written on.

   Focus on your interests, what makes you go WOW in life? What do you think about when day-dreaming? If you could do a dream-job what would it be.
   
   You say you have little life experience, but what experience do you have?
   
   Inspiration will come you just need a to focus a little that's all... everyone's equal Molly! Don't be perturbed by what you perceive as others Hubber's illustrious lifestyles...

   Your profile says you are a student who is interested in creating things.
   
   As a student, you are learning all sorts of things at school.  You can transform your next research paper or classroom notes into a hub.
   
   As a creator, you are making stuff.  Next time you make something, take photos as you go along. and create a hub showing us how to make one too. Even if you made a mistake, tel us what the mistake was so we can avoid doing it too.
   
   By the way, I have found that most people don't think what they did was interesting, because it is their "normal".  You have to remember, though, that your normal isn't the same as the next person's normal.  What is normal (and therefore boring) to you is quite interesting to the next person.

      Now that you mention it, I have many things that people might be interested in reading from my perspective.
      
      I do have several ideas for hubs to write on things that I'm making. One in particular will probably get a lot of views when it is done, seeing as nobody has written on the subject yet, but I haven't even started it yet.
      
      I'll keep my eye out for new ideas.

   I feel the same as you.  It can be tough as you see some people do/have a lot of experiences.  They have families and disposable income, they buy things, go to places, holiday, travel - and so do their families.  They are also, often, at home all day, following hobbies accessible to them through their financial situation (not having to leave the house for 12 hours/day to actually work). 
   
   It can be disheartening, but once you get the hang of things you'll find stuff you CAN write about.
   
   For those in big cities, there's a big audience for them, by default, just by writing about local landmarks, tourist destinations etc. 
   
   I hope you find your feet!

   Welcome to Hubpages, Molly.  Don't worry/  You will always have something to write about.  One technique I used is to write down ideas immediately.  In time, you will have more topics to write than you have the time.  Believe me.  I am here 4 years, and I am still happily writing.

   Welcome Molly, as Good Guy has said not to worry it will come. All of the sudden your have so many things that you will want to write about and not enough time to do it! What you find boring is not boring to other readers. We all have interests and ideas to us they may seem of no use but to others interesting. Take your time, think out of the box and when your ready get typing! Good luck.

   Welcome to the site, Molly!
   
   As people have advised you, it's not important to have a wealth of personal experiences - the main way to be successful here is to write well, and to find interesting topics you can research and write about - if something interests you, it will also interest readers. Journalists don't 'live' everything they write about - they research, get interviews and create stories that are informative and interesting to read.  Think of it as journalism, and you'll be surprised at the ideas you'll have for new hubs!
