Why is it that fight for things, die for things, pay for things? And get nothing in return? Iraq should be ours shouldnt it? The 51st state. Anyone?
Iraq should be left to its own devices. Iraq has been fought over and broken up by the indigenous population over there since before Christ. It has to figure its own future out. There are ethnic and religious factions struggling for dominance and we should stay out of it. If ISIS is to be the ruling government then let them have a try. The longer we prevent it the longer it will take.
ISIS is not indigenous to Iraq. ISIS is slaughtering the indigenous population. ISIS is a foreign entity which was started in Jordan by Jordanians and then was taken over by a Saudi named Osama bin Laden. Its original name was Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad.
More than 60 countries are waging war against ISIS and, so far, are losing miserably. The terrorist group now controls about half of Syria, Iraq, parts of Libya, Nigeria and has entered Southeast Asia. America is on its target list, too. Do you think it should "have a try" at ruling America?
ISIS is a result of the meddling the US is determined to be a part of in the Middle East. The other as with many others is the backing of Israel, your favorite topic. Whatever you want to add the US is committed to protecting Saudi Arabia and the petro dollar. If Saudi Arabia falls so goes the American economy as our money will effectively be proven worthless. China and Russia would love this to happen.
So wrong! China is the biggest foreign holder of U.S. Treasury debt and could collapse the U.S. economy in ten minutes if it wanted to. Israel will survive without America and without the U.S. dollar. If you live long enough, you will witness that. By the way, the U.S. supplies more foreign aid to Israel's enemies than it does to Israel. If the U.S. stopped ALL foreign aid overnight, Israel would actually benefit. (Write your congressman.)
And you are so wrong.
"The Chinese are now accelerating their long-term plan to dethrone the U.S. dollar." [1]
"The largest natural gas producer on the planet, Gazprom, has signed agreements with some of their biggest customers to switch payments for natural gas from U.S. dollars to euros." [2]
"In July 1944, delegates from 44 nations met at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire - the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference - and agreed to “peg” their currencies to the U.S. dollar, the only currency strong enough to meet the rising demands for international currency transactions." [3] " " In 1971 recognizing that the US, and the rest of the world, was going to need and use more oil, a lot more oil, and that Saudi Arabia wanted to sell the world’s largest economy (by far the US) more oil, Nixon and Saudi Arabia came to an agreement whereby Saudi oil could only be purchased in US dollars. This caused an immediate and strong global demand for US dollars." [3
"The number one American export is U.S. dollars. It is paper currency that is backed up by absolutely nothing, but the rest of the world has been using it to trade with one another and so there is tremendous global demand for our dollars. The linchpin of this system is the petrodollar." [4]
You see China knows that the US dollar is worthless and that changing the standard from petrodollars to Eurodollars or anything else will collapse the US economy and then the bankruptcy fallout will make China and their currency number one and the preferred petrodollar holder. Up until the time the petrodollar collapses China has no grounds to collapse the US economy. If the basis by which the US petrodollar is rendered useless China will be the only one to trade with as the number one economy.
"By the way, the U.S. supplies more foreign aid to Israel's enemies than it does to Israel."
Hmmm. I wonder why that is? Could it be the US does not wish to anger its friends in Saudi Arabia and such who hold the reigns on the worlds and US energy and currency

We drew the lines of modern-day Iraq. After ww2 allied forces didnt just make Israel. We made many others. If not. for us they would be Goose STEPING in , mid East Germany.
Catch up on your history. Israel was established in 1947 with the UN sponsored partition of what was then Palestine. Lots of different views on this but that is when Israel took over. The Jews had been in many different locations through out the area forever but not as a country.[1]
As far as goose stopping the allied forces took care of them well before the establishment of Israel.

Simply put, In response to a question: 'Are you worried about what China might do?" Pres. Biden replied, casually, ( to paraphrase): 'I'm not worried, I don't think they are going to do anymore.' In the midst of this serious situation, he publicly dismisses China. Considering my view of the...

For the Atlanticist press, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). which has just invaded the north and west of Iraq. is a group of jihadists led by their faith, the Koran in one hand and a Kalashnikov in the other. For those who have suffered their abuses, including in Syria, it is a...
