According to various news sources, it seems a step mom has taken it upon herself to discipline her 12 year old step son for not only getting bad grades in school, but for smoking weed as well.  How does she chose to punish him?  Well first, she decides to shave his head, and gives him the infamous "George Jefferson" style haircut that some of you talked about in this forum a while back:

    http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/128512

However, she takes it a bit further by publicly shaming him online as she does it.  Throughout the video that went viral online, she has him admit that he smokes weed and has bad grades, and then proceeds to shave his head.

What's interesting to note here is that it was also revealed that the step mom is a professional escort, as it was revealed a few days later after the video was up.

In fact, here's a link for you guys to see if you don't believe me:

Anyways what are your thoughts on this?  Do you think that this step mom has the right to discipline her step son like this considering she's a professional escort?  And do you feel that shaving a kid's head like this is a good form of discipline?  And do you agree that it's okay to post it online for everyone to see?   Or do you see this all as another form of child abuse?

by the way, here's a link to the video that went viral showing this kid's public humiliation online, so you can see the full story.

Edit:  She was also allegedly arrested for prostitution sometime after that video was made, so what are your thoughts on this?

It will probably be termed "bullying" by many, but what is this about being an escort?  Is that supposed to somehow mean that a mother should not raise her kid?

It depends on you who ask, but it is interesting to note that she was arrested for prostitution a few days after that video went viral.  Allegedly, she was arrested due an undercover police sting operation, where she got arrested.  Since then, many news outlets have began questioning her character, and some have even suggested that her career as a professional escort (or prostitute if you will) might be a contributing factor as to why this boy does drugs and has bad grades.  Granted, I know you might ask what does one instance has to do with the other, I couldn't tell you.  however, it seems once the word got out about her profession it's been making a lot of people that were originally rooting for her to turn against her.

I only wanted to bring that up because I want to see if any of you people on this site would have your opinions swayed if you knew what she does for a living, and knowing that she got arrested for prostitution.

If the mom is an escort-prostiute of course this would be the cause of bad grades and drugs.she is probably too busy with guys to take care of this little guy.I think that what she did is too far and maybe she should be working on helping him,get things together,

Plain and simple, she's a bitch. I'd probably have failing grades if I had to live under someone like that. The kid can't have any stability if his dad is OK with marrying an escort. I say, she is guilty of child abuse. A smart judge might have her head shaved like George Jefferson, and locked up for child abuse---not to mention prostitution. Then we'll see how she likes it. Disgusting woman.

She'd better sleep with one eye open from now on, cuz that kid might do a Menendez Brothers on her as soon as she lets her guard down.

lol  Although the kid did deserve to be PARENTALLY PUNISHED, I don't know if I would agree that posting the video online for everyone to see was the right way to go.  I mean even if they take the video down now, it's always going to be on the internet because people will have made copies of it, and they'll just re upload it.  In essence, this will probably follow him for the rest of his life, so I honestly don't think this was a good move.  if anything, I'm starting to think this might be a form of child abuse by publicly shaming your kids online like this.  And no, this has nothing to do with what she does for a living because even if she was working a normal 9 to  5 job somewhere, I'd probably still think this borders along the lines of child abuse.  hmm

In my view, she is taking out her hatred of herself on her stepson. The poor kid.
He needs to get away from her.

why do you think she hates herself?

Because she has/(had) to give up the best part of herself for strangers.
She used her body for money, instead of love.
Her love for herself and others, including her step son is gone. She has become the epitome of cruelty.
In essence I see her as very evil.
Child protective services need to be called immediately.
Or the father in this scene needs to rescue his son!
        The woman needs to change.
For her own sake, I hope she does.

I'm just curious on where the father was during all of this.  Is he okay with his son being publicly humiliated like this?  And what kind of person marries a woman that's an escort?  Granted, I ain't one to judge, but I never really understood that myself.  I mean why would you want to date  and/or marry a girl who you know sleeps with other guys (and sometimes girls and couples depending on the girl) for a living?

I guess I can see some people being okay with it if you're into that sort of thing, but still.  It would bother me, so I don't see how her husband is okay with it.  It might be just me.  Plus, where's the real mom in this situation?  Is she going to simply allow her own biological son to be humiliated like this?

don't get me wrong, I'm all for PARENTALLY DISCIPLINING your own children if they get out of line, but I do believe there's limits.  And publicly posting her step son getting that haircut online wasn't a great form of punishment.  No, it seems more like another form of child abuse if you ask me.

Even if that kid shapes up and gets his act together, that video is going to follow him for the rest of his life.  Take in mind that everything you say on the internet is forever, and I can only imagine the hazing this kid is going to go through during the rest of his middle school and high school  years.  He'll never live it down.  Heck, it may even hurt his chances at getting a job someday, so this step mom didn't do him any favors.

Giving him that haircut is one thing, but did she really need to post it online for us all to see?  Did she really need to tell the whole damn world why she was giving him that haircut?

I agree. The father and mother of this child are truly negligent leaving him with the likes of HER! She is not a mother. She is an abuser.
You can tell by his demeanor that he has been held down in his spirit for a good long while. Pot smoking and bad grades are the least of their worries.
Suicide attempts are sometimes made by even the very young.

You bring up some good points.  After watching that video a few times, I started to also wonder why that kid never tried to fight back against her.  I mean some kids have been known to be hostile towards their own biological parents who merely try to help them do the right thing, so it does make me wonder one or two things.  Was the kid high when that video taken?  Or could it be that he's been demoralized like you said?

Don't get me wrong, the kid needed a wake up call if he's smoking weed and getting straight f's, but this was not the right way to handle it.  I just hope that the kids at his school don't hold this over him for the rest of his life, as we've seen cases proving that bullying has gotten a lot worse in this pc era that we live in these days.

The kid was not high.  If the kid was getting bad grades, that right there is a sign that the home life is not conducive. Good grades reflect a positive home life in most cases. It is a body, mind and soul connection as far a joy of spirit which is what is required for kids to be into their school work. No typical kid works for grades.  Kids work because they are happy and content in life all around.
As far as smoking pot, he is obviously in with that type of crowd. I appreciated the pot smokers compared to the alcohol drinkers when I was sixteen and put in with a bunch of teenagers while camping with my mother's friend's family in Ensenada. The alcohol drinkers were so rowdy and obnoxious! (I never should have gone on that trip!)

Pot makes one mellow and beyond it all. If his life was good he wouldn't need to get beyond it all.
Or she was trying to attract customers and this guy was just a pretty good actor?
                Who knows.

Hmm. I guess you have a point there, as I don't think he was high either in that video.   Now that I think about it.

what do you mean by your last statement out of curiosity?

You know… The way she was buzzing his head almost seductively for the camera…
the way she was moving around him with absolute dominance…
                    No?
The kid seemed much older than twelve... and way too subdued for a twelve year old.
Come on! she's not "motherly" in the slightest! she was mean and demeaning… don't some guys go for that?
