Watermarks

   I have four photos in the hub. The first on is the book cover from Amazon. The other three are from the Wiki share site. No negative feedback on the ratings page.
   A quick question. When I move the cursor over the images a red Pinterest logo pops up. That isn't considered a watermark, is it?  Probably a stupid question, but I am pretty stupid when it comes to all this. Thanks.

      Copyright or in this case a photo becoming public domain usually occurs if the image is over 100 years old but with a caveat on many other stipulations such as publication, when did the author died, its uniqueness and so on. In the case of your images I would think that they are in the public domain. Marisa is right, you should include a link (Amazon ) to the book.

   Hi Gary,
   No, the Pinterest logo isn't a watermark, it's just there to click on if someone wants to show your photo on Pinterest.
   
   Not a stupid question at all, as I'm sure others will share your concerns.

   Just wondering why you haven't included an Amazon capsule to buy the book?   I assume you're signed up for the HP Earnings Program?   It would be a win-win for you and the author to provide the reader a link to buy it.
   
   Also, I suggest you double-check the copyright status of the photos you've used.  They're so old I'd have thought they were public domain by now, but looking at the State Library of NSW copyright page, they say photos can't be used for commercial gain so it's wise to check.

      Hi, Marisa. I think the  Hub suggestion is that I wait until I have at least  five good hubs before applying for an earning program. At this point, I'm slogging through he process of building hubs. A mini-nightmare learning the right steps to edit correctly. For example, on my Gallipoli hub, I lead with the Amazon book cover and have a map directly under it. They are tied at the hip in one capsule.Though I'm pretty sure now that the problem is that I should have opened a separate hub for the map, I'm hesitant to mess with it. I have so much to learn. I've lost or had to over on things because of stupid mistakes and inexperience with Word, formatting, etc. Over the past couple of weeks, I've have spent hours going over information pertaining to rules, discovering and applying new ways to use the tools already in my computer, and much more. It doesn't help that my Windows programs are in Spanish. As to the photos,  I think I'm set. They come from the Wikipedia photo site. It gets easier all the time, though. Sorry to run on so much. Kind of thinking out loud. Many thanks for taking the time to check out the Hub and give me good advice.  I'm going to take a crack at hub problem.
