Goat Headed Creature Thing Statue.

   Is this statue of  "Satan"  frightening, irritating or hilarious?
   For me, it is irritating, since it features two apparently adoring
   c h i l d r e n. (What's so great about a goat-headed creature thing?)
   Maybe some find it awe-inspiring, considering the cost.
   Its best to ignore it, but … what the heck?

   The statue is not frightening at all, but just a reminder of the "AntiChrist" movement which is on the rise like never before.  One thing is for sure, my hope, trust, and assuranc e rests in the most Holy and sovereign King, Jesus!

      Yes. It is more like hilarious.
      The statue of Satan was put up in response to a monument featuring The Ten Commandments that was to placed on State Capitol grounds.
      What's wrong with the Ten Commandments again?
      No matter where they're put !?

   The monument:
   " …a marble slab engraved with the Ten Commandments, controversially situated on the grounds of the Oklahoma State Capitol. In 2012, state representative Mike Ritze fronted $10,000 out of his own pocket to have the marker installed in the shadow of the capitol’s dome, prompting the ire of those who believed it flagrantly violated the separation of church and state. The American Civil Liberties Union sued the state of Oklahoma; the Satanic Temple fought fire with fire. If the Christians could chisel their credo onto public property, the argument went, why couldn’t they?
   
   The state didn’t agree, and rejected the Satanic Temple’s petition to place Baphomet’s statute on legislative property.
   
   The point is now moot, though: a month ago, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled that the Ten Commandments monument violated the state constitution."

   I don't get what's upsetting since it's not being displayed in a public space.  It's being displayed on the grounds of the church that commissioned it.  You will only see it if you go to the church.
   
   Don't some Christian denominations display the cross with Jesus being crucified (gruesomely murdered)?  I think we are all so inured to that imagery that we don't consider how distateful it is -- far more distasteful than a goat chatting with some young'uns.  If an alien with no knowledge of human religions landed on Earth, which icon would he find more disturbing?

      In My single view, because the world is a God/reality based world. Satan and Satanic thought are based on Satanic delusion. A church that actively preaches illusion/delusion is scary.
      God is reality. When the majority are not on this page it will be hell. How can harmony exist under satanic philosophy? HOW?

         As an atheist I would say that's any and every church. God may be your reality but he's not everyone's.
         
         I kind of like the children looking up at Satan, I think it could symbolize religious exploration in youth which I would say is important. As someone already brought up, a lot of churches have disturbing images of Jesus bloodied and hanging from the cross, so I don't think this is particularly upsetting for children in comparison.

            I was stuck in the shallow end of the pool today guarding the beginners from my school ... Lucky for me, I'll be able to go to the deep end tomorrow.
            Its much more refreshing in the deep end …
            
            Deep thought is also more refreshing than shallow. Luckily most people are in the deep end of the pool when it comes to deep thought/perception

         That translates as: we think we should be able to force other people to act according to our beliefs, not their own beliefs.  Which is some serious hubris.
         
         This is the exact belief the "Satanists" are satirizing, so--mission accomplished.
