Say, it ain't so, Texas? A pimply face adolescent can go to Walmart pick up a Glock 9mm and nobody raises an eyebrow.
As a part of Credence's Rightwing Watch, I discovered an interesting piece of irony, Texas has a law that prohibits an individual from owning more than 5 vibrators (cant use the more appropriate word that begins with a "d')
This is worse than Texas getting slapped down when their attempt to restrict the act of Sodomy between consenting adults was prohibited by Supreme Court ruling at the turn of this century.
Before I go on a rant about the absolute absurdity associated with this, are there any Texans that can dispute this information?

Conservatives complain about nanny-government particularly regarding the NYC attempt to limit the vending size of soda at food outlets. But this dildophobia is even more egregious in its invasion of privacy. Where is the cry concerning this?
I have never liked Texas, with its phony ostentatious forms of Christianity, its arrogant conservatism, its attitude of taking all that is cultural and defined to oblivion.
It lies at the heart of the rightwing empire. A good infusion of blue in the coming decades "Texasforming" over time may in fact make it habitable.
Sorry, to get after the residents of the Lone Star State, but if this law is true and on the books, I have already shown more mercy than you deserve.
Your thoughts?
I have frequent heard the adage that everything is bigger in Texas, so maybe there is a reason for the limit. After all, how much can you stuff in a 5-pound sack.

I am sorry but I just can't get past this.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO
How about that if you DO own more than 5, you are considered a distributor of "obscene devices", and that simply cannot be tolerated. Off to jail you go! And without your evil merchandise!
It almost sounds like a scene from "Alice's Restaurant". Sitting on the bench awaiting your cell if someone asks you what you are in jail for, you answer excessive possession of vibrators! Watch the others slide away. LOLOLOLOLO
Not necessarily. While there are those who will.....SLIDE AWAY, there will be some quite curious......in fact, VERY CURIOUS........In fact, they want to know one.......VERY, VERY WELL.............. (keeping it PG rated now).
Seems to be inline with the obscenity statutes.

Their Penal Codes could force some people to register as a sex offender.
I thought this had to be some outdated crazy law on the books. Nope!
Thanks, and would not be outraged? Texas and Red America remain a piece of work...
There are a lot of ridiculous old laws in different states. I use to get a kick out of reading them on Bubblews by a member who wrote bubbles about them. Then, I looked up some on other sites because its kind of entertaining but mostly I like knowing what laws there are.
True, but the Red States seem to have a lot more of the old ridiculous laws and are more determined to hold on to them even when presented for public ridicule. Having these kinds of problems in Texas is no coincidence...
Some things make no sense at all.
Topless laws in Texas?
This article says there is a "certain degree of leniency in enforcing these laws during special times of the year (i.e., Mardi Gras)."
This site has a list of states where women can go topless.
http://gotopless.org/topless-laws
Austin Texas is on it.
Thats a great informative map, who am I to intefere with the will of the people to bare arms and whatever else suits them.
All those pathetic Texas men with their guns and pick-up trucks belly up to the bar and must be allowed to have their entertainment, regardless of how coarse. This place is not exactly a cultural mecca. It is probably all topless bars. Austin is, as the Texans say, the azure blue in a land of crimson. I hope Austin and its influence will help the rest of the state find its soul.
Seems a just a tad unfair to disparage an entire state because of a dildo law, doncha think? Perhaps they don't want people to use five at once and consume limited medical resources such as space in ambulances and emergency rooms.
When it comes to Texas this is just one outrage among many....
Five dildos in a walmart sack can be a deadly blunt weapon too! I think Texas lawmakers are just looking out for the safety of Texans.
These "old" laws were passed in the 2000s in Alabama,a and updated around the same time in Texas. But to be fair the "possession" aspect of the Texas law was overturned in 2008 and only sale of the devices is illegal now.

States who care about their citizens finally have a roadmap on how to hold the people who will sell a gun to just anybody to account. This is thanks to Texas and their oppressive, demeaning anti-choice law.California is passing a law, which Gov Newsom will sign, that allows "Californians...
