...About 10% of what they used to be! They removed all relevant pictures, removed 50% of my text, and changed almost everything else. My top gaming article is now averaging 40 views a day when it used to get 300-400! big_smile Awesome feature so far!

You do know, I hope, that you have the option of putting everything back the way it was, right?  This is a perfect example of why you should always keep copies of your hubs someplace outside of HP.

Timetraveler2, Helpful comments like this one are why I wish we had a "like button." Guess I've been spending too much time on facebook recently!

Zach, you ought to take printscreens of how they changed it before you undo what they did.  Then slowly change one element from how you had it to how they had it and see which elements help your views and which elements don't.  You could write some interesting hubs about your findings afterwards too! ;-)

Yeah I know that is an option, I haven't had time to go back yet (and it's only been a week or two). Wanting to see what happens, but usually around this time (the FIFA 16 release) my views ROCKET up to 500 or more before dropping in the next summer. These numbers are incredibly low considering the time of year

I always used a flash drive from the beginning when I began writing on various sites. That way I always had an original copy of each piece I wrote. As time passed, I changed a lot of them, and took a lot of them off sites. But I still have most of everything I ever wrote, and can still use it, or edit the original if I want to. I saved them all to Word too, but the flash drive was extra insurance, because I've accidentally deleted things from Word a few times.

Wow. How long ago were the revisions made?

Couple of days ago, been working a lot so I haven't been able to check each day. But views seem super low

Did they change the title? If they did, I encourage you to change it back. I have had a half dozen of these edits, and most of them are fine but when one title was changed the views plummeted. When I noticed I changed it back, and as of this week my views are back up.

I changed the title back right away, but it was changed at first

Dang. Now I feel better for opting out of it.

Opting out is no longer an option for the basic version.  You can still opt out of the higher one, though.

HP even sent me a veiled threat last time they opted to use Hub Pro on one of my articles that was doing very well. They said something like "You can still opt out of Hub Pro but your hub will be edited by Hub Pro Basic anyway."
So, as you mentioned, opting out is no longer an option.

The timing of your editing may be the problem— you are postulating that editing caused the traffic drop when that might not be the case.  Many Hubs have lost traffic because of our sitewide change from subdomains to HubPages.com.  Paul has written a Forum Post and Hub about the move.  I would wait and see what happens over the next week or two and follow that forum thread to see if others are noticing traffic changes.  Many Hubbers are experiencing the same thing whether they have been edited or not.  smile

I think the same fate came to my top-most viewed hub (having about 110 page views per day on an average) which got edited under Hubpro last week. With the site wide reshuffling happening, my page view of that hub today is 2!
