Why it become difficult to make hubs featured on hubpages?

I think many people are facing same problem on hubpages. My featured hubs turned unfeatured because of traffic and when I tried to edit them and resubmitted, they got unfeatured for quality??
I wonder how my high traffic hubs are now unfeatured because of quality. Even I am still writing in the same manner I write before, but now my articles are unable to get featured tag. No one is helping me editing my hubs. I am wondering what facts now hubpages editors now consider to make hubs featured.
    Please suggest someone

I can speak from my own experience. In all cases, when a featured hub became un-featured, I just edit it with a small minor change such as changing a punctuation mark and re-publish. invariably after one day, they became featured again. That is how I treat it. It only takes me a minute.

Try cutting and pasting the text from your hubs into a program such as Word or use the free Grammarly download.  I found a lot of errors in both spelling and grammar which could easily be remedied with the help of one of these programs.

The rules on HubPages have changed since you wrote those Hubs.   Probably, your Hubs were fine under the old rules but they are not acceptable under the new rules.

I have written a Hub about the rules which you should read, you'll find it on the spotlight on my profile.

It is clear from this post and also from your hubs that you are a second language speaker of English.  As such, you have many errors in your hubs.

Given that you are writing about topics that have a lot of competition, I suspect that your views have dropped as a result of the two issues.

Google has clearly stated that it considers spelling and grammar when rating articles. It also wants fresh material that cannot be found all over the web.

It might help if you chose topics with less competition and also get someone to edit your posts for correctness.

In the past, HP and Google were not so stringent, but now they are, and the change, as you said, is hurting a lot of people here.

You are right, English is not my first language. Can you suggest me some software that can be used to check grammatical errors? It is very difficult to find my own errors. Can you help me in editing?

You would be better off to take some adult ed ESOL classes because that is the only way you can learn to correct your grammar.

English is a very difficult language to learn, and to do it right, you have to take the time to learn all four skills:  Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking and practice them regularly.  This is no small task.

You can hire people to edit for you, but this is expensive and will not solve your problem.  It appears your skills actually aren't that bad, so a few classes might do the trick for you.

          Good luck.

The content, organization and logic of your hubs are sound. You just need a proofreader.

You might try Hemmingway Editor It won't get you as close as TT2 suggests with actual classes, but it will help.

I did hired a proofreader, even though my articles are not featured. Can you please help me in proofreading because such English classes are not available in our city.

A Grammarly download will help you the most. When you go on your hubs to edit Grammarly will show up and let you know what the problem is. My spelling and grammar are so bad I have to use it.

Grammarly shows only minor errors. For advance editing there is a paid version. You use paid version? Also, you think grammarly can rectify my errors?

I use the free version.  I find it invaluable.

I agree I think the free verison helps a lot and that you won't need the paid verison.

I like your hubs. I read a few of them. So far, the writers gave you the correct answers. Read the respondents carefully. If you still do not understand. You need to click on the help word on the side. Then read the rules of hub pages. You will do fine. Good luck to you.

My assumption would be that if you just make a minor tweak and change it, you'll just find yourself in the same boat again. When I see those, I've been trying to actually add value to the hub and beef it up. A lot of my hubs that didn't hit that 700 word marker were the ones that were move to an un-featured state. Probably the easiest thing you can do that will give your hub the best chance to stay listed is to make sure you're hitting that 700 word marker. Just a thought.

That's not my experience. In my case, my hubs were fine quality wise. It just missed the traffic that HP expects, after a few months ( 6 month), HP automatically unfeature them. After I edit them and re-publish , they become featured again. Good for another 6 months.

Have there been changes in quality assessments recently? I'm new so I don't know.

I don't believe so in the year and 3 months I've been active. You need to understand that HubPages only have a staff of 23. They are not active looking to un-featured hubs. It is mostly an automated process that looks at traffic and last updates and un-feature them with a give criteria. Once it is updated, it is featured again till the next time it trips the wire.

Yes there have been major changes, standards have been tightened up a lot compared to a year ago.

They seem to be on a witch-hunt against Amazon capsules in particular, products must be very closely related to the title of the Hub and you should have no more than two or three per Hub (although the official standards suggest you should be able to have more).

Witch hunt? Why perpetuate the myth that getting rid of Amazon capsules that are of no value to readers is somehow irrational?

Go find a site peppered with misused affiliate links that does well in the SERPs.

tsmog, you have great taste in writing apps! I use Hemingway for all of my Hubs, my short stories, and my novel in progress. A friend was having a heck of a time with their manuscript, so I put them on to Hemingway. He got it from Grade 10 to Grade 2 in a matter of hours.

So far all my 19 articles have been published no problem. All I've done is try to stick to the. Guidelines.
