Hi, I signed for Hubpages, because I figured getting paid to write Niche Geek-Centric topics would be a fun way to earn money. plus I need the money for college and to fund etreprenuerial endeavors as a crator of comic-books. So I signed up for the Amazon Associates, and as a result I'm getting this meesage:"Not Active (but your external code nbyomshubblo-20 is active)." So how do I fix that to where I have an active tracking ID for Hubpages?

Also this might be a dumb question, but I'mma ask it anyway:"Do I also need to sign up for Google Ad Sense and the ebay progrm to get paid, or is Amazon Associates enough?"

The message you are getting about your Amazon account means you are active, using your independent code, not as part of the grouped HubPages Amazon account, which is an option.  HubPages may earn at a higher tier than what you accrue independently, or you may have a multi-site strategy where keeping your own Amazon code here is part of your intended plan.

You have to figure out which is best for your earnings strategy, but note that if you ever stop using your independent code here, you can never go back to using it.  That is a key change in user control.

As for your second question, I'll just say that I think you already answered it.

Okay that leaves me with more questions than answers.

      1. How do I get grouped with the Hubpages Amazon account? Because my plan was to get paid by them for my Hub articles.

      2. You're implying that I can use my independent associates account to earn money with my hub articles, to which:"How do I do hat?"

      3. I'm assuming by "independent code," I'm assuming you mean the "Affliate Code" on my earnings settings. What do I do with that?

        1. Go to your profile Earnings page https://hubpages.com/my/earnings/affiliate/ and configure "HubPages Earnings Program Settings" which we colloquially call Hubads

        2. If you *do not* want to join Hubads you do not configure it and used purely your own adsense account "External Affiliate Settings" On the same page.

        3. Yes, see #2.

All your questions are answered in the learning center and they are easy to find... Take the time to go through it, it won't just help you with setting up, but will guide you to get things off on the right foot. http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/contents

I second lobobrandon's advice.  You need to choose how you want to configure things, so you need to read what your options are.

Relache, psycheskinner, lobobrandon, I appreciate y'all's help... But after looking through the instructions and browsing the forums to see if anyone else had similar questions, this where my own incompetence is to blame. Because after I signed up for the Hubpages Earning program, and created my Associates account, I should have gone to edit my first hub and added in the capsules...-_-

But honestly I didn't that's what those buttons were for and that's what I get for not reading those instructions when I was writing my hubs...-_-

Granted I've only been here for  week, but I pride myself on being a quick learner when it comes to stuff like this, so this was a shot to said "pride." :p
