What are the Real Criteria for Moving Pages to a Niche Site?

   I've been through the 10 step program (for HP addicts, lol) and they are all fine and noble.
   
   Problem is, I suspect that editors have other criteria. Given that we only get one shot every 2 months this is rather important.
   
   Are staff looking for any of these things?:

   Content that will be unique on the niche site.
   
   (Jodah in another thread wants to move a page with a scrambled egg recipe to delishably.

   There is already a scrambled egg recipe on the niche. Will this impact his chances?)

   Length. Can short but comprehensive pages make the grade?

   High competition subjects. Would a page titled 'How to Play Pokemon' make it? I am quessing a page early in the craze would have, at this point spamminess enters the issue

   Would a page with a low QAP score make it, if it satisfied the 9 criteria? What sort of QAP score would eliminate a page?

   There are other issues, I have probably overlooked, other people might think of some....

      Jodah hasn't asked to move his scrambled egg Hub to a niche site.  It's been chosen by HubPages to move to the niche site, so it doesn't look like uniqueness is a factor.

            At this time, we aren't rejecting Hubs because another article of the same topic lives on the site.  We are being very particular though and it's in your best interest to make your article of equal or higher quality.  The sites are doing really well and we don't want to jeopardize that by adding content that isn't of the highest quality.  Our editorial policy page is a good place to start.  Have a good weekend!

               Thanks for that info, Robin. I currently have an ankle the size and colour of a grapefruit (minor motorcycle accident) and I am well into my third course of antibiotics.
               
               I learned during the first course that I was not thinking well enough to do anything that might impact anything important. On the other hand, saying the first thing that comes into my head in these forums seems like a good idea, lol.
               
               Might leave the submissions until I know what I am doing.

               Robin - I like to see all the questions before I start filling in a form.
               
               Have I missed the post where HQ spelled out all the questions in the submission process and explained why they exist (eg reference to policy) and exactly what they mean to avoid any misinterpretation?

                  Just open any page and hit 'submit to a niche site' at the top. You can work your way through the stages without committment or peril. Never been past 'choose a site', myself, though.
                  
                  Of course, teasing out the rest of the criteria might be more difficult.
                  
                  In any bureaucracy, cultures take hold which are not necessarily rational and that people might not even be aware of.
