A Utah high school student complains about cheerleaders turning him on

According to young turks, a high school boy in Utah is having IMPURE thoughts about the girls at his school lately; particularly cheerleaders in their scantly tight uniforms.  He's complaining about it being a distraction because of how much it turns him on, so his mother (no im not kidding here) sends a letter to the school board b**ching about the cheerleaders tight clothes turning her son on.

As a result, they were forbidden from wearing their cheer skirts for the last game against the Alta Hawks.  It's a bit unclear where this is going to lead to next, but I will say this much.

Back in my day.  If we saw a bunch of cheerleaders in high school that turned us on, nobody would've said jack s**t about it.  Nope.  Instead, all the guys would just sit back and enjoy the view looking at some nice looking cheerleaders.  Hell, if you were lucky enough, you might even be able to talk to one or two of them.  Score a date, and who knows?  But hey...what do I know?  I mean that's just what my generation would've done.  But these days?  If a girl even wears ANYTHING that gives a man impure thoughts, even when it wasn't her intention, then it's automatically offensive....

You know what?  George Carlin had it right.  We are becoming a nation of pansies.....   hmm

Can't be any worse than the mini-skirts the girls were wearing when I was in high school, more skimpy than any cheerleading outfit.

Its probably the only place these girls have an excuse to dress so. I hear they put huge pressure on the young adults to get married and raise families.

Yes, they do. Having relations that like in Utah, (not Mormon), I am a little familiar with their customs. But, if this is not a public school, I can see them making a case. But short skirts and hot pants have been around for some time and a lot of us teenaged boys had to work to control our libidos, but we did it.

You got that right. They gave me a lower locker one year and I never used it out of fear that when I knelt down the mini skirt might not cover everything. Funny, too. My mom wouldn't think of letting me wear jeans but she bought me those without a second thought.

The mother's willingness, (enthusiasm?), to write the letter probably explains the boy's behavior.

That does not surprise me because of your response to Credence2's porn thread some time ago.  (I could link to it.)

The biggest problem with porn, is the market for it.

          What "porn thread"?

When did porn come into the discussion, (before you mentioned it I mean)?

Is your mind such that you equate the appreciation of physical beauty to porn? Is it because men were appreciating the beauty?

Are you saying that the appreciation of youthful shapely figures using their lithe firm-skinned limbs to perform various athletic and dance moves that accentuate their grace and muscular control, (and near-contortionist abilities), is really just an appreciation of porn?

Thanks, GA, I did not know just how to approach this, you did take the words out of my mouth.

There is moral hypocrisy and priggishness on one side and there is vulgarity on the other. I like to think that I have approached neither.

I don't know. GA was treading the line there with his last paragraph. He could write cheap romance novels with that stuff.

Ha! My thoughts exactly. My wife was rushing me out the door for a visit as I hurriedly finished that comment. And for the entire drive, in my mind, I was recomposing that last paragraph as I had wanted to post it ... until my wife asked what I was smiling about. I suppose it all turned out for the best.

I certainly hope, for the boy's sake, his name is not given out. Lots and lots of high school boys are probably pretty miffed at this point.

Sounds like the Mormon underwear is on the path to becoming a burqa.  Is Christianity retreating from centuries of forced civilization to rejoin Islam it it's absolute control of anything it doesn't like?

    1. Live to Learn profile image60
Live to Learnposted 7 years agoin reply to this

I'm assuming this was a Mormon. If so, that's a minor sect. It doesn't indicate christianity, itself, is in jeopardy of going that route.

        I hear apathy does that.

ADDED:  This young fellow needs our prayers.

      2. wilderness profile image93

I wouldn't say that any sect 14 million strong is "minor".  My granddaughter, 14, exposed her collarbones in school a while back and was called to the office.  She had to immediately borrow a sweater or go home - strong and repressive dress codes are becoming the norm in schools.

But while I was a little tongue in cheek, there is truth there, too.  Christianity is a driving force behind the attempt to reverse Roe vs. Wade.  The attempt to minimize or end gay rights.  ALL efforts to teach Christian principles and dogma in schools.  In Kentucky it has resulted in a change in state law concerning marriage licenses.

Sure, there are others involved in each fight, but the driving force is fundamentalist Christianity, bolstered by massive organized church coffers.

It would seem wise to me if you thanked God you were born or live in a predominantly Christian country instead of an islamic sharia country or a country with state sponsored atheism. Speaking of burquas or thobes, you might want to thank Christians and the crusades, while you are at it, otherwise theres a good chance you and yours would likely be wearing them today.

I've always thought those on line who always down christianity were simply channeling their fear of Islam into an outlet where they felt safe to vent. No one in their right mind could suspect christianity in the west would devolve into an Islamic style belief.

On any given day ya gotta couple atheists here saying beliefs are stupid. Now do a 360 with a revisioinist cherry picked public relations campaign extolling the health benefits of smoking marlboros while the other atheist runs block. Looks like they have a common spiritual foe to explain all that rigmarole

The girls need to tell the school principal that the boy's face makes them have impure thoughts of wanting to punch him in the face, so he needs to wear a bag over his head at all times to prevent them from having impure thoughts.
