There must be a balance between believing and non-believing. If you do not believe anything, it is a great problem which will lead you to misfortune. On the other hand, if you have a habit of believing everything that masses believe in, you are just a blind believer.
Perhaps it is not so much in having beliefs or not having beliefs, but more about having the ability to let go of the experiences that often form these beliefs.
If we do not believe in anything we might experience the newness of a moment without feeling the need to transform that experience into a belief and cling to such a belief. Not clinging then may leave ourselves open to experience the newness of another moment that is untainted by beliefs because we chose to let go,
If we cling to beliefs based on past experience, what otherwise may have been an opportunity to embrace the experience, will probably be hindered by the belief/s we have chosen to cling to and we are sure to miss the experience and the newness of the moment, that possibly may present new perspectives and or insights into the nature of that experience.
When a plan is clear with a follow through in your mind.
Is that a way of thinking or a belief?
Can be both.
If one believes there is only one way to achieve their plan and they do not alter their course as or when the need arises the progress of the plan will be impeded by this belief.
Even the most well thought out plans often need rehoning and altering due to unforseen circumstances. Understanding this on the outset will help us think through alternate routes and methods when required because we have not clung to the belief that there is only one way.
I guess your right, it can be both.
Belief is a confidences faith, trust in something or someone.
I just can't imagine one book can give all these universal truths.

Speaking only for myself here. I can't see inside other people's minds, so I don't if it's the same for them. When a person tells me about God and Jesus and the whole nine yards, my first natural inclination is that there is no real truth in it. This non-belief just occurs naturally without any...

Why Do Religious People Get So Angry At Atheists? When it comes to Atheism, most religious people get angry and even combative when it comes to this subject. I wonder why, especially in this day and age, one would feel anger towards another human being with a different perception/outlook/belief....

If you do not go to church, but you believe in God, are you still considered religious?
