I am wondering if HP has any plans to branch out into publication (either print or e-book) for any of their niche sites. Allrecipes.com has a number of publications on Amazon and they also produce a periodical.
I'm not sure it would be practical. I think the challenge for HubPages would be working out how to pay Hubbers for Hubs that were used in those books. Since there would be no direct advertising income, the earnings from book sales would have to be split manually, and the staff cost would likely outweigh the profits!
Sites like Allrecipes don't have that problem because they don't pay their contributors.
Helium used to sell ebooks, but they also didn't pay their writers any of the proceeds from them.
I don't think I would be happy about that. I think if writers want to publish their own articles as e-books or articles hard copy books they should. There is something called copyright at stake here.
If you spread yourself thin, you will loose more readers, than gain. It is much better to concentrate on one thing, make it great, and keep the base growing. There is way too much clutter in this world, to add to it.
We don't have any plans to do ebooks or print today. We tend to focus more on the evolving technical landscape and how we can help you reach an audience through things like AMP or instant articles (AMP is in the 2017 plan).
If there was a significant opportunity for authors with alternative distribution, we would consider it. We just don't think it fits a broad enough set of authors today.

Also when you submit a hub to a niche site you will get more info there.

How can we tell if our articles have been moved to the niche sites (I believe they are called)? I think I found at least 2 of my articles there but how do we know if they have been moved?

I know very little about SEO. If you have hubs on niche sites, is it still important to have a knowledge of SEO? I get little love from Goggle.

Hi,Do more experienced Hubbers have any useful tips for getting your article moved to a niche site? I kept seeing advice that goes something like "make sure you write a high-quality article" but it just seems so vague to me. I have 9 articles now and the only one that was moved to a niche...

Of course, HP is playing their cards close to their vest, and rightly so.But, from what I know about fracturing the HP family of writers into these so-called "Niche Sites" is a little like taking a cannon ball and melting it down to pour the liquid into molds for shotgun shot. Each group...

Hopefully someone from Hubpages HQ can look into this.I believe that those of us that are using a hosted account with Adsense are not getting any ad revenue on impressions from the niche sites.I base this on the fact that my daily impressions on Hubpages vs Adsense differ by a factor of about 100....

Hello!I've been writing in HubPages ever since I joined last August, 2019. Almost everything has been going smoothly, I guess. I have some featured hubs an overall 30,000 views (adding up all the views my articles get) and most of them are transferred to niche sites. Though, I still have a lot to...
