Unable to add hyperlinks

When I highlight the text and click the hyperlink icon, the box pops up. I enter the URL for the link, hit save, and close the box. The text is blue in the editing box, but when I hit save, the blue and the URL disappears. I have tried almost a dozen different links. I've restarted and updated my computer and then restarted it again. I've tried just making a different first hub page. The hyperlinks will not form and stay, and I feel it is important to link to source material.

Is there some weird thing about how hyperlinks work on hubpages versus every other application wherein you can add hyperlinks?

Hello LFSpencer, Are you still experiencing this issue? If so, please update your web browser and try inserting a link in your Hub. If the problem persists please contact team@hubpages.com and we will take a closer look.

Matt, it is not just her. This feature has not been working for some time. I thought that HP had just phased it out.

Hello DrMark1961, You are asking about hyperlinking in the Text Capsule right? If so, I have tested this and it is working properly. If you are having a problem with a specific Hub, please contact team@hubpages.com and I will take a look.

This does not work in the text capsule. I do not have grammarly installed.
On my latest hub about shelter dogs personalities, I tried to hyperlink an article about dogs that do not shed much onto an comment about dogs that do not shed much in the last paragraph. It did not work, nor do any hyperlinks work on other articles.

I've been experiencing it since I started trying to write a hub over a week ago. I have refreshed, rebooted, restarted. Nothing works.

    Hey Matt,

Just so you know and to back up what DrMark is saying, I have been having the same problem for over a month now. I just checked and hyperlinks via the insert link feature does not work at all. A placeholder link is placed instead. I just worked around this issue by placing links in HTML mode.

My chrome version: Google Chrome    56.0.2924.87 (Official Build) I think this is the latest version. It auto updates when I restart the browser.

I insert a link and hit save and the dialog box doesn't close. I need to close it manually and then notice the placeholder link when I check out HTML mode. This does not bother me and I don't need to contact the team, just thought the feedback would help.

Can you explain how to add a link using HTML? Thanks.

When you edit a text capsule you have a toolbar kind of thing with HTML on the left end. Click it. Once there you can add your own links easily:

This is some text and I want to link the word <a href="Insert Link Here">DrMark</a> to your profile page.

The issue could be a plugin installed in your browser. Do you have Grammarly installed? Grammarly tends to interfere with the Hub Tool.

Oh yes I do. I should uninstall it. This is probably what it is for most people.

Hello lobobrandon, Yes you should uninstall Grammarly. It's most likely causing the problem.

Uninstalling Grammarly did not work. Deactivating all extensions and apps on Chrome did not work. I dusted off internet Explorer, and that seems to have worked. I'm going to log out and back in and see if the changes stayed at all. But you might want to check out your Chrome interactions.

I uninstalled Grammarly and now my links are working. But, the problem is that I had to uninstall Grammarly. I need Grammarly.Do we have any other options to replace Grammarly, or do we replace Hubpages, just kidding.
