Do you see a relationship between numbers of views, comments and hubscores? In other words, is your most-commented-upon hub ranked highest in views or score?
Do you have any that are high in comments and low on score?
Do you have some that are high in views and low in comments?
Do all of these factors work together? or are they divergent for you?
1) views/comments/scores No
2) most comments/highest views/scores? No
3) No
4) Yes
5)Factor interaction: I don't see a pattern among my Hubs, except all my niche site Hubs are higher scoring than my HubPages Hubs.
I see no correlation between performance and comments, that's for sure. My best performing articles, all on niche sites, have zero comments.
That is very interesting, Patty.... and worth taking note of. You have a great track record and probably the biggest individual sample of any hubber.
One reason I asked was because these individual statistics do not correlate in my experience, I was wondering if others experienced the same conclusion.
Want to hear more, from others.
Yes, one might think that the "best" Hubs would have the most comments, most views, and highest scores, but that is not so, for some of us at least. Let's see what others will say about it. Most fascinating.
I have abysmal scores, but plenty of comments. I'm happy with that.
LOL - my most commented on hub has one of the lowest scores and almost no views. My best score/2nd best commented on has the most views, but it is one of the oldest. I don't believe anything correlates. I have low score hubs that get good views and earn through Amazon. I pay no mind to the scores of comments.
My most viewed hub has one of my highest hubscores and a large number (for me) of comments. But I don't think that indicates correlation. This hub has been my most viewed for just over a year. During that time its hubscore has ranged between where it is now to as much as 12 points below that level. Over that period I've made only minor changes that I doubt directly affected its hubscore.
If anyone is good with statistics or math, we could check if there's a correlation between different params and the hubscore. I believe it's called the Pearson correlation coefficient. You could theoretically check all the variables that spring to mind (comments, traffic, author score, etc) against the score of the hub in question.
I might be mistaken, so if there's someone with a math brain out there, please correct me
I've been asking myself those same questions, especially with regards to which hubs I rewrite for niche sites. As with others' comments, I've seen no correlation. Given that, I've been experimenting with rewriting hubs with high scores to submit to niche sites, then one or two with high reads, then one or two with high comments. All of the rewrites have been accepted. Most of them increased their readership on the niche site, but some didn't. Only a very few have received additional comments.
I am astounded by this thread. Haven't you guys figured out yet that HP uses the same random number generator the California State Lottery does?

I'm thinking the answer is probably yes?If you have hubs that have been deemed "not featured", for one reason or another, will that factor into lowering your overall score/rating as a HubPages member? Example--let's say your overall rating is 75. If 10 non featured hubs become...

It looks as if we are being given a different hub score on each of the Niche sites. I did not see that coming.

This is curious: my top five hubs, with the highest scores, display a significant drop-off in page views. I am not complaining about the scores, or the fact that they remain in the top 5. I'm just curious how they are staying there, given the overall pitiful traffic. ...

I've noticed that I keep seeing HOTDs that fit the niche sites yet weren't chosen for the niche sites because they still have HubPages URLs. Why not save some time in the selection process for the niche sites and mine all the recent HOTDs and all of the Editor's Choice hubs for use on the niche...

The scoring system of habpages is either fundamentally flawed or purposely biased in favor of long hubs. You said it hubpages team: the more, the merrier, but I dont think that this is in your interest, or the interest of hubbers and other people using the website. To make my case, I used...

Hi all. Have been away for a while. Can you please update me to the effect that the niche sites have had on your hubpages if any. Look forward to chatting with you all my fellow hubbers!
