I have a hub that has two supposed broken links but the message is "Error: 416 Requested Range Not Satisfiable."  Both links are good and go to the site and page I want them to.  Can someone please explain what this means so I can either correct it or request that it be dropped?  Thanks.

Natalie, I just Googled and found this explanation for your problem.

"The HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) 416 Range Not Satisfiable error response code indicates that a server cannot serve the requested ranges. The most likely reason is that the document doesn't contain such ranges, or that the Range header value, though syntactically correct, doesn't make sense.

The 416 response message contains a Content-Range indicating an unsatisfied range (that is a '*') followed by a '/' and the current of the resource. E.g. Content-Range: */12777

Faced with this error, browsers usually either abort the operation (for example, a download will be considered as non-resumable) or ask for the whole document again."

I think the links you provided do not display the full range content to the readers and, so, they may not like to continue reading it.

I took a glance at your article. It does have some problems as mentioned below.
Your article sent a message of 416 error for some seconds before loading.
Your own linked articles in that hub sent broken link messages with an option to click on a new "if you want anyhow to proceed, then click here" message.
Your "Tell or not to tell" link lead to a login page of that website and there was no option to view article without logging.
I don't know whether all audience is experiencing the same problems or not when they wanted to read your article.
I may revisit your hub at a later time to read it completely.

I'll check again.  Is there a way to fix this or so I just need to delete the links?

I've had a chance to go back and check the links.  They both link to a full article.  Of I understood your response correctly you thought the message might mean the linked to articles that had been cut off and were not complete?  I've searched for the error myself and haven't found anything that speaks specifically to this.  Thanks.

Not particularly about the appearance of the completeness of the linked articles. It refers to some other issues also like loading time, failure in the loading of pages to all your audience, and even they can send some spammy messages to your readers thereby scaring them to pursue loading those links. All these issues are implied by that Error:416 message. That's what I understand. Other professionals, anybody reading this, may clarify even better than me.

I Googled and found the same answers, but to be honest, I had NO idea what those answers meant!

I'm not getting any strange messages from the Hub.  Reading the explanation, I think it's possible it's your browser that's causing the problem, not the Hub.

Good point, I missed that bit!

If the links are working for you and not for anyone else, make sure you are logged out of those other sites before checking the links.
