Confused how to tell how my pages are doing

   I'm confused about how I tell how each of my hubs are doing individually.  I understand higher scores are better.  I have an AdSense account and have entered the URL for each of my hubpages there (just did that today).  I just am not sure how I can see how many impressions and/or clicks each page is getting. 
   
   Is there anything else I should know about minitoring how my pages are doing?  I really want to make money, but I want to enjoy creating pages also and sometimes feel as though I should just create pages and then sit back and see what happens - but then I start reading posts in the forum and there's so much out there about the numbers!

   ** Click on “my profile” on the top of your page.
   
   ** Then click on “edit profile”  (top of the page above your profile name)
   
   ** Towards the top of the page, you will see quite a few options in Blue – Select “Statistics”
   
   ** It indicates how all your Hubs are doing – a general view.
   
   
   For individual Hubs,  Open up the Hub and click on “Stats” at the top of the page. (in the Hub)

   You'll be able to see your hub stats in about 24 hours whenever you log into Google Adsense, providing you put in each URL under URL channels? (It sounds like you did this).

      Have you set yourself up for Google analytics?  You can't track the individual Hubs in Analytics, but you can see what keywords are bringing readers to your Hubs, and you'll find that makes it pretty obvious which Hubs they're reading!

         Wow - I didn't realize this!  I definitely need help figuring out how to fix my analytics setup - even though you can't track you individual hubs, it'll tell you what keywords are being used to bring people to only YOUR hubs?  How does that work?  Geesh, I have a lot to learn!

   Funny you ask - I just posted this on another thread, maybe you can help and tell me what I did wrong and how to correct it:
   
   I am confused by all this - trying to understand how to keep tabs on how my hubs are doing.  I tried to sign up for analytics, and I think I did, but when I login to view my reports, two of my 12 hubs are listed and only one is "receiving data" - the other    has no data and states: "Tracking Not Installed The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website."
   
   How the heck do I get all 12 of my hubs set up on analytics - no idea what I did to get the one that's being tracked on there!

   Yes, you absolutely can track individual hubs in Analytics. Once you have an Analytics account, go into the affiliates section of HP and enter the code. Then in Analytics, create a new website profile http://hubpages.com. Once it starts tracking, when you go into Analytics, from the menu on the left select Content, Top Content, and it will show you the performance for each of your pages. Any of the pages you click on in Analytics, you can then select a "dimension" to see where the traffic is coming from (source), what keywords are driving them (keyword) or the geographic location.
   
   So, you don't set up different profiles for each of your hubs, when you set up the website profile for http://hubpages.com, it does all the work for you!

      Wow - okay, so should I delete the profiles I have there which are the URLs for two of my hubs and just have one profile that's just hubpages.com??  How do I make sure the affiliate code is entered properly, or is the fact that it is receiving data for one profile (one of my hub URLs) enough to tell me it's correct?  If I delete that specific profile, will all be okay?  Am I making any sense??

         Yes. Create a new website profile for http://hubpages.com. Come back to HP, go to My Account, Affiliate Settings and enter the code (will begin with UA) into the Analytics section and save. That's all you have to do. I would suggest that you go back to Analytics as well and go to the bottom of the screen and select Filter Manager and exclude your own IP address so it doesn't track the times you visit your own hubs. If you don't know your IP address, go to http://whatismyip.com and it will tell you.
         
         Analytics will tell you whether it is receiving data or not and whether the code is working or not. As for deleting your individual hub profiles in Analytics, go for it. You're so new that losing your first 3 weeks here won't matter in the long run.

   My affiliate settings show the UA# which I see on my Analytics settings page - but on my HP affiliate settings page it shows the UA# ending in -1, which corresponds to the one hub it is "receiving data" from.  I entered the new profile of just hubpages.com and it shows next to it the same UA# but ending in "-4", so should I change the affiliate code in HP to the "-4"?

   Irohner - you are awesome!  I will do all that right now.  Before I discovered HubPages three weeks ago I thought I was pretty smart - this is a whole new world and I'm amazed at how much there is to learn here, and you are a great teacher - thank you!

   Okay, I did everything you recomended, Irohner.  Just one final question - does it take a while before analytics says that it's receiving data?  Although I only have the one profile now and updated the code on HP it still says "Tracking Not Installed" on the analytics page...

         Did it all as instructed, but it still says - wait!  I just went back to see exactly what it was saying and now it suddenly has the green check mark that says receiving data - yay!  Still, I would certainly love to understand more on exploiting Analytics....
