not with carbon credits he won't.

Carbon credits is just as bad idea as raising gasoline taxes ,or tobaco taxes,it just makes the poor poorer and hurts the economy by letting speculators make buying carbon credits so expensive it would be prohibitive.

What we need it to put the next level of energy technology on the market as soon as possible.

    Concur with someone who knows
The Cap and trade will not work, it relies so far on technology development that couldn't replace fossil fuels or even a significant percentage of them in less then 50 years or so, We need to transition to bridge fuels like natural gas that is cleaner than coal and oil and is abundant here.
Quick action could have natural gas replaceing over 30% of our imports in less than ten years. Congress is sleeping and in bed with the Environmentalist wackos on this one. Hope iot gets better in the senate.

So far the climate change debate is more political than scientific.  It is a fact that we do not have another planet to go to when we are done with the earth.  Treating the earth as our permeate home makes some sense to me.  Al Gore did a good job of taking the politics out of the discussion.  I think that we can all agree that we would like to have clean air and clean water.   Most corporations do not want to spend money to operate in an environmentally clean way if it is not good for the bottom line, profits.  It is cheaper for them to create political and media noise against global warming or climate change.  It would help all of us if we had honest discussions on the subject.  Whether you support Al Gore’s climate movement or not the results of that discussion will affect you.  You should want the facts.  Your children and their children will thank you.

I doubt it. The people screaming the loudest about climate change are the people with the most personally invested in it. Plus it's Al Gore, who can take him seriously.
Energy independence is important, but it shouldn't be shoved down   our throats by people who view environmentalism as a new religion.
