   It depend on your daily activities..
   If you love simplicity, go for Mac OSx,..If you are average user, use windows..if you are advance user go for Linux

   I love the new windows 7 it is awesome!  Vista is the worst OS but they have redeemed themselves with 7.  I rarely have to reboot my system when running windows 7.

   All mainstream operating systems are good at their particular fields. Linux is the industry standard OS for servers, and people doing scientific calculations.
   
   OSX is really straight forward and easy to use. It's very comfy and does everything you might want it to do.
   
   XP is now getting a little old so here we go with 7. I used to like it because it was easy to use. It had everything where I first looked, so it's kind of easy to use too.
   
   Doesn't matter really. The one you can use the most effectively will be the "best".

   OS X is hands down the best OS for your advanced and average user.  Apple's OS is much more stable, user-friendly and secure. 
   
   Don't waste your money or time on Windows

   Most people go with Micro$oft Windows and a lot of people like the fact that when they buy a computer they don't have to install a operating system, Windows is already there. But here is the downside, Windows is extremely unsecured, and there is a consistent chance of getting a virus even though you might have anti virus software installed.
   
   Then there is Linux to the rescue,  unlike Windows, Linux is secure, resistant to viruses, and the best part, most distributions are Free.
   
   So in closing I will say Linux is the Best choice for an OS.
