alright, this REAAAAAALY annoys me. I've had to delete a few comments just in the past days from when people advertise their hubs on mine. They put things like...
"hey nice hub, want to know another way to do (whatever my hubs on), just check out (their hubs link) its so great !"
Is this even allowed ? and don't people see that its rude to do that...or am I just being harsh.
I don't think it's allowed, but there's not much to be done except marking the comments as spam.
I delete those too. Well, first I check to see where they go or if it's even relevant most aren't so delete. Too bad too cause sometimes I like the comment, just not the link.
Wow that is just rude. If I wanted to, I would ask first.
Only if you allow it.
I delete the comment or I mark them as spam.
Yes you can set comments so they don't appear unless you approve them. When you get SPAM then mark it as such and it will be deleted. Occasionally people post a hub link which is genuinely helpful in which case I allow it.
If it is a hubber then you can also flag them to Hubpages staff. Often you will also get spam from none hubbers. Just delete it - the internet is full of spammers unfortunately!
I get this all the time on my healthy eating and weight loss hubs. As of yet, no one has posted a link to a helpful website, rather adsense sites designed to earn money that have no helpful information or even damaging information. But, I suppose that is the nature of the internet.
It is really frustrating; I totally understand where you are coming from!
Thankfully, HP puts all your comments in one place when you log in, otherwise, it'd be really difficult to keep up with all the spam.
I've had some of those, and I'm not thrilled with them. I may have let a couple stay posted but usually don't. I think sometimes it's more that people don't really know "etiquette".
I'm sure I've had some people advertising on my comments capsules who aren't on HP, and I just delete those, but not Hubbers...yet.
They shouldn't even be called hubbers- they're hubbits (hobbits).

Why do so many hubbers delete comments just because they disagree?I see this a lot particularly on hubs espousing things like Noahs flood, or the inerrancy of the bible. I don't delete opposing comments when I write about evolution - why cant these people deal with contradicting opinions. Is it...

Hi,One of my Hubs has been showing comments from different people that are unrelated to my post. It seems to be entire discussions going on about another subject. Is anyone else seeing this?

I've only written a handful of Hubs so far, and I knew that I would encounter this issue due to the nature of my writing. I have one Hubber who continues to post personal insults in the comments of all of my Hubs. This individual has also indicated that he votes down my pages because he...

So I've deleted all of the idled hubs so far and am wondering when I will have none left. I'm not going to edit anymore until I see some sort of improvement in traffic. Too much trouble for no results at all. With all of the scrapers and with HP's brilliant program I'll soon have...

I'm reading an awful lot about Hubpages at the moment and while a lot of it is going in, not everything is and I'm certainly not very good at being able to reference back to where I read it. Frankly it's all very new!One thing which concerns me is fan mail. I've got a vague recollection of reading...

Just in the past 10 minutes or so I've already gotten 3 spam comments, all on the same hub! And whenever I delete one, it seems another immediately comes up!I'm sure that when I wake up tomorrow (it's almost 1 in the morning now) I'll have many more to delete. Ugh, is there a way to stop these spam...
