   No, it is the end of time though, psychological time, at whatever cost, the choice is ours but either way its evolve or die. We have a higher potential we can all be living at but it takes a collapse of the government or a reformation by the growing community of "aware" people who actually hold integrity, have vision and are the brave ones.

   I actually did some research on this a while back. A really interesting movie to watch if you're interested is Zeitgeist (Google it).
   
   So, the theories:
   
   1. Christian ideology: December 21st 2012: Astrologically, this date marks the end of the 'age'. The earth is on a very gradual wobble, and every 2150 years, the sun will rise in the area of a new astrological constelation. Currently, we're in the age of Pisces - the fish. This is the same age of Jesus's birth, but the Jewish (Old Testament) Prophet Moses was born in the age of Taurus - the bull. The ancients were well aware of these ages, and they correspond with religious symbolism and the Mayan calendar. Some Christian thought-groups (extremists) believe that the world will end December 21st 2012 because in the Bible it says that Jesus will return at the "end of the Age". In some translations it appears as Age, some as Era, some as Time. For those who follow the 'Age' interpretation - December 21st 2012 is when that Age ends and judgement day will come.
   
   2. The Mayan Calendar. The Mayan Calendar is an astrological calendar developed by the ancient Mayan civilisation. What's freaky about this ancient calendar is that it ends on Dec 21 2012. The theory of the physic/New Age world is that the Mayan calendar represents human development in the metaphysical sense, in terms of states of consciousness. It goes in 'days' and 'nights of certain lengths, in a pyramid shape, each equal in length although getting shorter and shorter as we get closer to 2012. There are then levels composed of theses days and nights, each level represents a new state of human consciousness. For example, action / reaction is one of the earlier ones. Historical Mayan sources suggest that the end of the calendar is cause for celebration, which is agreeable to the New Age beliefs. Dec 21st 2012 will bring a new heightened state of consciousness, and people in tune with their 'aura' will feel a significant energy shift in the world.
   
   They're the two main theories I know about. It's such an interesting topic. There are others, of more apocalyptic tendencies, and the date coincides with a few significant astronomical events. Some people think it's to do with the earth's polarisation, which is reflected in the increasing frequency of global natural disasters.

   Definitely.  Historically, these predictions have always  been 100% accurate.
   
   Were you around when the world ended in 2000?  That was awful, wasn't it?

   This is just so much over hype media rubbish.
   
   Oh I'm sure there are the Doom mongers out there who will be scouring EBay for suits made from sack-cloth and ashes and plenty of people eager to sell them.
   
   Consider this, Only the Christian world considers this to be 2010 and even they have lost the plot because nobody can agree if we started with the year zero or one....
   
   Two; nobody has the faintest idea when Jesus was actually born and best estimates are at best + or -   two or three years. 
   For certain it wasn't on Christmas Day, that day the Christians pinched from the Pagans.
   
   I'm not sure the Mayan were Christian so I'm not convinced that their calendar and our are in sync so it would be hard to pay too much attention to any of them.
   
   In London if you walk around the streets there is always some idiot wearing a sandwich board proclaiming the World is about to End !    I suppose by the Law of Averages one day he will be right and the God Squad will be out in force shouting their Halleluiahs and I told you So...!   But by then we the unworthy will be in no position to give a Rat’s Ass!

   My pastor said no because God said he would never destroy the people of the earth by flooding it again.
   
   I sat in the row of chairs at church and thought to myself. What a moron; did this guy even see the movie?"
   
   I felt like raising my hand and saying "actually the earth didn't flood, the earths crust friggin melted and sank into the ocean."
   
   ...but who am I to question or correct church leadeship?

   Prediction of this kind was also made earlier which turned to be fake. If the entire world is going to end and people have started believing this prediction, why the world is than not silent?

    Personally, I believe that something catastrophic may very well occur because of a rare alignment that will occur on that date that has not happened in 26000 years. Oddly enough, the stars tell us everything that we need to know about WHY this alignment could be so disastrous.

    I don't think so. End of the world is the judgment day. And no one knows when the Judgment day will be.Only God knows.
    
    The Word of God has not yet spread all over the world.
