How small is too small for a teacup dog? 2 lbs or 3 lbs?

I plan to purchase a Morkie this week & I have a choice between a 2 lb or a 3 lb. The price of the smaller one is double, but that isn't my concern. I wonder if there are other risks involved or if there is some other issue I should address. I have seen other Morkies on YouTube...they are SO adorable as pups but then at the end of the video they are all grown & they are really big and not so cute to me at all. Assuming all breeders/sellers exaggerate on the grown size (tell you it will be smaller), I want to err on the SMALL side and hopefully end up with a really small dog for its entire life

Usually the smaller they are the more prone they are to medical problems.  However, they are very cute at that size.  I think 2-3 lbs is pretty small for a teacup chihuahu.  It would be cool to have a dog that size though.  If you want a healthier dog, i would go with a 4-5 lb dog.

If, after skinning, gutting, and boning, there is not enough meat left for a hamburger, that is too small.

There is no such thing as a teacup anything. Most small breeds have an average weight ranging from 2+ pounds, which means a teacup would have to be smaller.

Keep in mind that super small is going to have super big health problems.
