Why is it when I hub hop most hubs are very short?

   Why is it when I hub hop most hubs are very short?
   
   When I do the hub hopping feature "some", but not all are very short and may only have one paragraph. Is there a reason for this or?

   Bad luck. It's all random lol.
   Most of the hubs I 'hop' are normal length.

   Bad luck...plus some people write a lot of very short hubs that aren't good for much, just to get their numbers up (and in hopes that people will click on their ads)

   One reason is the amount of spam in HP's both questions, forums, and hubs have gotten much worse just in the month or so that I have been around. By this I mean a ton of useless, or personal hubs that offer no real information to our readers. In turn lowering the quality of the overall website, and our hubs.
   Lets hope they do something soon.

   Sorry guys, I hate to disappoint you but it is not bad luck at all and you missed the reason why! Most of the hubs there are made by novice, they publish as soon as they write something. In the past few weeks I used the Hub Hopping feature a lot and placed a few comments around, when I go back to those Hubs later most of them were longer, i.e. finished.
   
   But one thing I agree with you, there is plenty of spam, I even found Hubs that have only a title, not even a short paragraph. But those hubs aren't there for long as someone flags them and editors remove them, thankfully.
   
   A great issue I came across since I started Hopping is that there are plenty of spun articles on HubPages that simply are too bad to even be considered as spam, they are pure trash.

   I found that too, or alot are personal or just a link...frustrating. But there are good ones too and I make sure to vote up for those.

   The Hopper is a Hub discovery tool that allows you to quickly browser through and read a random assortment of Hubs that have been published recently...
   
   Some of those who have joined recently and are new to hubpages are publishing the short and useless hubs... i guess they might have joined hubpages mainly to earn through Adsense or may be they want to promote their own web sites/blogs, this i have observed while hopping... too many hubs with too many external links...

   I concur with everyone whose already commented here. I have noticed that myself and have wondered about it in passing. Then just a few days ago another hubber whose been with HP for two years said that "hub hopping is insufferable." I take that to mean that this has been a long standing problem.
   
   At least two of the commentors here have mentioned that some of these "hubs" are little more than a title, a short single paragraph and plenty of external links. I think of this kind of behavior as "guerrilla blogging."
   
   Maybe we all need to be more aggressive about actually flagging these substandard articles, because as much as I hate to say this, there is an aspect of HubPages that is a business, and we are all being held back by the spam being left behind by these guerrilla bloggers.
