Pet insurance depends on the region you live in. I pay roughly $175 per yer per cat and I have 8 of them. I'm in PA. My step-mother has dogs (2) and cats (4) and pays a group package of about $1200 per year and lives in OR.
The cost of pet insurance varies depending on where you live, what kind of animal you want to insure and what kind of coverage you are looking for.
You can get a basic accident policy for a generic dog or cat starting at around $15 a month. As with all things, when it comes to pet insurance you get what you pay for. If you want accident, illness insurance with a wellness plan thrown in to boot... it's gonna cost more.
The best thing to do is to shop around. Get at least 3-5 quotes and ask a TON of questions, read the fine print and compare companies and plans to be sure you are getting what you want at a price you can live with.
Remember... the devil is in the details. Be sure you UNDERSTAND your policy before you buy.

Pet Insurance should cost roughly $30-35/month depending on which additional riders you sign up for (i.e. cancer rider, heart care, etc). The one thing to note about a new puppy is all of the additional costs associated with it. http://www.costmonkey.com provides literally every cost associated with owning a dog. Check it out for more information.
As other people have stated here, pet health insurance costs vary a lot depending on where you live, what type of pet you own and how much coverage you decide to get. If you have a rare breed of dog that is older and is prone to getting cancer then you may pay more than someone who has a young, regular dog with no special needs. The most important thing that you can do when deciding about pet health insurance is to compare costs between different insurance companies so that you get the coverage that you need at a rate that you can afford!

How do you decide that you can afford to get a pet?How do you know whether you can financially afford to have a pet? Or, which kind of pet you can afford? Pets have monthly expenses, occasional vet bills, and possibly unexpected vet emergencies. So how would a pet-less person know they can now take...

Why does Health insurance Cost so Much?Could it be because The Young and the Healthy are so delusional that they think that they will never get sick and will live forever?

I truly want to know if these are valid reasons...or are they perspective on what "could" happen, or just totally absurd possibilities. If you have proof to validate or deny these reasonings, I genuinely would like to hear them? Here are just some of them, from a conservatives view: ...
