   Generally the people who fine themselve much better off are the intuitive people who spot gaps in the market and fill it, not people who scour the internet for get rich quick scams. The internet survey schemes are a con, the payout is nothing or tiny, people in the real world will pay a lot more in the real world.
   
   Coming back to my point before, an example would be finding a town with a high level of 18-25s yet there is no popular place for saturday night, a good idea would be to start up a massively advertised nightclub.

   Create a business and concentrate on the "Why" not the "How" or "What".  If you truly have a passion for what you do, the money will come.

   Years ago purchasing some real estate was a good investment, but based on today's economy I'm sure there has been a dip in returns like everything else recently. A good invention will do the trick.

   Nowadays, the new concept is becoming wealthy not rich.
   
   It's not just about the money anymore or how fat your bank balance is.  There are other resources that are limited that the New Rich (NR) are maximising.  Have you ever read 'The 4-Hour Workweek' by Timothy Ferriss? (it's good, sometimes hilarious and can be life-changing).
   
   Time is one of them, so your aim is to earn good whilst having enough time to do what you want.  You make money work for you and not you work for the money.
   
   People are doing good at online businesses.  But only if you work hard and smart.  Find what you are best in (your hobbies, passions, expertise) and tap it into the online world.  Money will not come initially but if you do it consistently, you'll see results.
