    What is beauty to you?

Everyone says that its whats on the inside that counts but is it really?  I want to know what you all think about it.  I like to think that I am objective about it and that I don't read books by their covers.  Can I really say that...can you?

Yes not judging a book by its cover is something i had learnt  when I was quiet small, I would pick out the nice, shiny, bright coloured ones while my brother would read a bit and pick out his stuff, I ended up reading what he picked up, not mine. My very best friends are the ones who have a heart not a face or a body!!
My most liked fruits are those that look not so great on the outside but taste heavenly when i eat them  - the litches or avocados.  So beauty to me is something that I can live with!!

Whether we like it or not we are influenced from a very young age as to what is deemed to be attractive in the physical sense, and what is, well...not so attractive.   This is probably brought about by many subtle messages that we're given through films, television and the media.

Big problem for many years now is that the film and television industry, and magazines and newspapers to a lesser extent, show us pictures of a certain type of physical beauty, and it's nearly always of someone young and in their prime.  Girls from sixteen to thirty or so, young men between the ages of twenty and forty, all trim, taut and terrific.   The reality is that the majority of people don't measure up to these Greek Gods and Godesses, so many of us begin to feel...well...That we were standing behind the door when God handed out good looks.

One thing though:  perceived physical beauty is only the outer mantle; the magnet, you might say.  But in order to keep that sort of pull, that person needs far more than their physical appearance.

Beauty is not just in the eye of the beholder.  There can be an attractive person with a very unattractive personality. Over time looking at this person will become less apealing, as the personality with over-shadow their physical beauty.
The same goes the other way around.
Everyone is physically attracted to different traits and characteristics, so there is no solid answer for a "what is physical beauty". I did see a special on discovery once where they said "beauty is in the MIND of the beholder."
They went in depth on how the more cymetrical your features are - the more physically beautiful people will see you as.

I have a weakness for sweetness. I love a woman who is sweet and kind. I can only see the beauty in her.
