If it isn't a law it should be. Lives can be saved if you give
    100 % attentin while driving.

I think they are illegal hree in WV.  Everytime that I see someone on the road and talking on one I yell at them to get off the Frikken Phone and Drive.  Seriously--some have heard me and got of the hone and then some have flipped me the bird.  I just wonder what would be on their headstone if they were hit right then and died.  People need to think about what they are doing--right at the moment they pick up that phone.

Texting is against the law in our state - thank goodness!  I wrote a Hub about texting and talking on the phone.  I really get perturbed with it.

I want a bumper sticker that says "Could you drive better if that phone was up your butt?"  (or something to that effect!)

I'm not a big fan of too many intrusive laws, but, to me, this one's a good one.  The information is out there:  Cell phone use (including texting) is a factor in a lot of accidents (and serious ones).  People shouldn't need a law to be smart enough to risk harming someone else (or themselves, but they aren't the only ones who may die if they choose to believe they're better able than "everybody else" to use the phone without being distracting).

People "shouldn't" need a law; but too many are arrogant, naive, stupid, immature, or whatever else they are; so too many apparently have a hard time just holding off on using the phone until they're parked.

The laws still won't stop everyone, but at least they'll discourage some people from using the phone when driving, and at least there will be just that little bit more awareness that driving and using the phone isn't as harmless as so many people think it is.

It's not that difficult to just pull into a parking lot if a phone call or text message is "such an emergency".  When cell phones started to become as widespread as they are, it would have been nice if everyone could have been "grown-ups" in their use of them - but not everyone is a "grown-up", so now we have these laws that are aimed at trying to reduce the loss of lives that has been increased by cell phone use/texting in cars.

I live in the state of CANADA in beautiful BC where finally any hand held device has been banned.  YiPPPPPPEEEE!!  There have been many a close call because the other driver, bicycle, school bus, semis, even have been talking or texting while driving, not paying close enough attention to what they are doing, and NOW they are being fined big time. At least Ontario, and Newfoundland also have followed suit as is New Brunswick currently passing their laws in regards to this issue. 4 down the other 8 are slowly getting on board. IT oughta be a law all over the world as it is in England, and a lot of places in European countries. SEE the proof at: http://www.cellular-news.com/car_bans/

With more than a million of miles of driving experience, I feel It should be against the law.

I am OK with hand-free communication. Still one should be careful.
