My favorite soup since my late mom isn't around to make any soup is Campbells Chicken n' Dumplings and Campbells Corn Chowder.

Although I am eating a pretty tasty Julia Child's Zinfandel au Boef as I type this (made it last night - a lot of work for a soup/stew), I think my favorite soup is either lentil or split pea - because of the simplicity to prepare and hearty-flavored, belly-filling results.

I LOVE home made chicken and vegetable soup. But it has to be home made, I find store bought too salty and not thick enough for my liking. There is nothing better when you are feeling under the weather.

If I have a second vote I would also like to agree with Vicki on Heinz tomato soup. We used to have it almost every Sunday night for dinner when I was a kid. Every time I have it, it brings back so many memories. I like to put broken up pieces of bread in it.

I would have to saw New England Clam Chowder with lots of Potatoes, but beef stew is a close second.

My favorite soup is this chicken corn soup I get at this local Chinese restaurant.  It is a mix of egg drop soup with a chicken and corn soup.  I love it.

While I'm a sucker for a great bowl of clam or crab chowder, I'd have to say that my absolute favorite is Tomato Soup! But it has to be homemade tomato soup made with fresh from the vine tomaoes, the supermarket can keep that canned stuff that they call soup right there on the shelf where it belongs.
I grow a few tomato plants each summer in back of my home, so I am fortunate to have the freshest tomatoes possible when making my tomato soup. If your not able to grow your own, try puchasing them from a local farm or farmers market where they will be much tastier than those purchased from the supermarket chains.
The Fresh Tomato Soup Recipe that I use is pretty simple. and can even be served chilled, which makes for a refreshing light lunch on a hot summer day. If you have a minute follow the link below to check out my recipe. I hope you Enjoy!
