    How is poetry magical?

Why do so many people find comfort in the writing and/or reading of this art-craft?

It may not be the poetry, but rather the impressions that form in your mind while you read poetry that are magical.  smile

I think it happens because through poetry, as through the other artistic media, you can express yourself and maybe use it as a relax method, especially when you want to say something in a particular way and want to convey a particular feeling

Writing poetry allows you to express your feelings without ridicule. Many poets never even share their writings. Poetry can be joyful, humble, sad, depressing all the things we all feel every day we breath. Reading poetry often reflects the way you feel or think, or have the opposite effect and make you think differently. I guess poetry reflects our thoughts on how we feel when we write and when we read.

the magic of creativity, the inspiration to try and form an adequate reply to feelings. The wine of ecstacey and the horror of unrequited love all inspire us to reach majical porportions. To remember your first poem is beautiful, rapterous and spiritual. It is your decision alone to make, like remembering the heady aroma of loves first bloom or an unexpected kiss afer imagining for so long the taste only you can completely savor. We are changed by poetrys magic and comforted by it. Song is poetry set to music and we are forever changed and molded by it remembering always the beautious inner reflections made more beautiful by memory the keeper of all things. Oh poetry, let thy magic forever bear the words of splendor written on the air, the dancers dream, the romantics first embrace is forever etched upon thy face .  Sweet poetry we salute thee.

Writing poetry allows you to express emotion and feeling in a completely unique way. When the words flow from your finger tips like water and create this beautiful piece of art work, it can't be anything but magic. For me writing poetry helps me to make sense of things and lift burdens from my mind. The same goes for any art form. They all have there own unique form of magic. For me, my passion, my hopes and dreams, is acting. I love to write poetry but acting is the #1 in my life.

Well...depending on the person, it's a way of expressing ones thoughts or feelings, I suppose.  big_smile I know it is at least for me. It comes from deep within or from my thoughts and just seems to spill out to be spoken.  That's the magic in it...that it needs to be shared.
