The most important thing to do is to adjust your speed to the level of grip. So you need to drive very carefully.
Don´t brake late and hard, don´t accellerate too quickly either.

Make sure that you got a good distance to the car infront of you when your driving. You schould never trust other drivers, they might do the most unexpected. If he needs to brake hard, and you don´t got enough distance, you could end up chrasching into him.

But don´t be afraid to drive even though the roads are covered with ice, if you just take it easy it´s no problems.
It can sometimes even be rather funny!

How to deal with icy roads, is first to adjust your speed level if your going like 45, you might want to take to like 37 or 40 mph. Also don't make any sharp turns or cut the wheel then you would go WHEEEEEEE in circles. But sometimes it mostly on your speed.

The absolutely very first you have to do is, you need to change your tyres. You definitely need to use winter tyres. The sense behind is, the material has an other mixture and lasts longer soft with minus degrees. Summer tyres become hard at this low temperatures.
Before this you should not even think about driving on icy roads.

Drive very slowly and carefully. If you driving automatic car, don't use D because you can't control if it is slippery. Drive D2 or L which hard gear.
