If they want to they can go right ahead. There's nothing wrong with Gay people or being openly gay. I do know that there ar backwards people who would/do have problems with it, but they just have to get grip on reality and equality.
Yes, however the only thing I'm concerned about is the additional $$$ the military will inevitably spend to implement the change. Is this really the right time for the government to be spending more money on anything?
I think yes; They're humans like the rest of us.
They're willing to fight for their rights as a gay person so surely they should be allowed to fight for their country, they could be just as active and brave in a combat situation as the next person.
Whether a gay person and his/her partner should be allowed to serve together in the same regiment would be a different question, to that I would answer no because emotions would be affected by being together. Only an opinion!
why do people even care. if someone is willing to defend my country i wouldn't care if they were gay or green with 5 arms.
Having actually served in the military there's nothing wrong with it. There were always guys you knew were gay and as long as there is an understanding that it was cool but you were not, no problem!
Gay people are people like the rest of us. I think the question was meant to be 'should openly gay people serve in the military?' Dr. Martin Luther King had a dream about the little boy and the little white girl, that was Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Simpson. Dr. King's dream of a little black boy allowed us to have an African American president.
Just because somebody was born different does not mean they are must be hated and discriminated against. To ask, 'should open gay people serve in the military is like saying should blacks and women vote?' We cannot afford to discriminate against anyone anymore based on race, color, religion, creed, gender, political affiliation or whatever but why sexual orientation?
We have openly gay people around the world as much as we have open straight people. Sex is fun and it must be enjoyed by all consenting partners regardless of the sexual form, namely, heterosexual or homosexual. Physiologically speaking, both the heterosexual or the homosexual, are just the same at that level.
Let us see what is it in the military that makes openly gay people unsuitable to serve in the military. Let us see what is it in the White House that makes black people unsuitable for that office. And if there exists such a thing in the military, then what are doing to accommodate them? We killed apartheid in South Africa and racism in the US, what other form of discrimination are we looking for?

How does legalized gay marriage "ruin" or affect a heterosexual one?One of the most common arguments against gay marriage is that legalizing gay marriage will somehow minimize or ruin heterosexual marriages. Admittedly, this is one of the stupidest arguments out there, but it is one...

Do you believe gay men and lesbian women can have children and still be homosexual?I recently learned that some people believe the act of reproduction (producing a child, even through artificial insemination) makes an otherwise gay person at least partially heterosexual. I do not believe this but...
