Don't know if it would technically be classified as a suicide as he didn't let the people do that, they overpowered him. But I'm no expert on this subject.

Jesus was born to die on the cross that we might be saved through faith in Him! He willing laid his life down and in three days took it back up again. He is alive still (forever more) and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. What He did does not compare to suicide. He was the living sacrifice given for our sins. Not only is He the Son of God, He IS God in the flesh!

You're way off, fella, getting murdered is not suicide.  Also, please show me chapter and verse where suicide is pronounced a sin, or you don't really have a question.

To take your own life is different than giving your life.  If I was to take my own life, I would use a handgun most likely and shoot myself.  If I was to put myself in harm's way to save others from being harmed, I would be giving my life.

Many believe Jesus was overpowered and taken by force, but they could not take Him by force.  They had tried many times before to take Him that way, but the only way they could take Him was when He allowed them to.

Suicide is a sin.  Thou shalt not kill (murder).  Suicide is self-murder.

I agree with your question. Whatever the reason for allowing yourself to die the end result is the same. The difference is the perception of the survivors  - Heroic Sacrifice or stupid stunt....

if jesus was the son of god then the only way he could have been killed was by letting himself be killled. now to some this may not class as suicide but when you let others kill you even though you can stop it then i concider it suicide. you can't call it murder because he later supposedly rose from the dead so in actuality he was never truly dead but he willing gave up his life for a short time and cause extreme sorrow for many people. if this isn't suicide then it's just as bad. the irony here is none of this happened but it just makes me wonder why people want to praise and worship something that does things that others would balk at.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

It was not suicide. It was a sacrifice of love from The One who was perfect for us who are not.

WRONG! Jesus was arrested and put on trial 3 times and the Jewish Pharisees and priests called for his cricifixion.

Jesus didn't commit suicide, his death was a ransom sacrifice for all; when Adam sinned we lost the right to live forever as perfect human beings.

That's the reason why Jesus Christ death is so important and significant, because it means freedom from the chains of what was inflicted on us, old age, sickness and death.

Jesus obeyed the Father perfectly. Part of his mission was to overcome death by willingly dying and being resurrected. He accomplished his mission and thus inherited his Father's Kingdom.

What is your mission? Has God ever required you to die? Most likely the answer is "no". He wants to to live and make some good choices, believe in Him, etc.

Perhaps you might find yourself in a situation that dying for a good cause will be the right choice. If you are a fireman and sacrifice your life to rescue a family, you can be sure nobody will accuse you of committing suicide.
