   Archangels are the leaders. If we were to use  the current military style as our guide, Archangels would be the base commanders for each of the military stations we have. They have equal powers and only the size of the base or manpower count is different.

   Arch angels fight demons and are recognized individually and called "saints"
   
   Angels are the most close to our word and mankind they are the ones who manifest, are represented with light clothes, candles and/or palms of victory.

   An arch angel is usually a high ranking angel.
   
   In medieval times, they believed there were nine rankings of angelology. Angels were the lowest ranking ones, and the ones we as humans are most familiar with, then the second lowest was Archangels, which in greek means, "chief angels."  Seraphims are the highest, in case you are curious. Michael is often referred to as an archangel, although it is believed he is a seraphim. In fact, Satan was a seraphim, until he fell. They are the ones who praise God.

Together with other works like the Summa Theologica written by Thomas Aquinas (c. 1225–1274), these drew from comparative studies of the Old Testament and New Testament, detailing the descending celestial order and divine rank.

   All good answers here.  Yes, they have different roles, and angels are all the servants of God.  Archangels are just more powerful angels.

   All these answers are good and useful. In addition I would say that "Michael" the warier and "Gabriel" the messenger are the most famous archangels according to the Biblical records. Also according to the theological views even 'Luzifer' was one of the archangels before his fall due to his sin. But they all are spirits and they serve God.
