   What are, the roots of greed and envy, in your opinion?
   
   It doesn't matter how well some people are, socially or economically, they just aren't satified, they want more, especially that what others possess. What lies at the roots of such feelings?

   Insecurity, the want to be "God," just as the serpent said to Eve, "ye shall be like Gods," human flaws are universal to the race; but the further one is from the realities of life, the more likely they are to be obsessed with their greed and jealousy.

   In my opinion the root of envy and greed stem from a direct self loathing. Those who desire more than they need and the things of others have a deep disdain for who they truly are. The comfort in your own skin is tattered from feelings of low self-worth. Not having a quiet place within your heart to just "be yourself" and allowing feelings of "who you are" to be good enough, drives people to desire grander more glittering possession's.
   For many, this grasping of things is a conditioning built in from the moment they first cast their eye's on a TV commercial. The brainwashing and re-vamping of what self-worth is, becomes ingrained in tiny minds and only grows more greedy and gains greater envy as the marketing and ad world mold and shape how to be a person worthy of societies admiration's.
   Some may even say it all began in the garden of Eden, when greed first took a bite out of mankind.

   At the deepest level the root of such negative feelings is just fear.
   
   Fear of not having enough,, fear of not being accepted..fear of not being the best...fear of poverty.. fear of not looking good enough .. fear of not being loved.
   
   It is simply fear.

   Well the lack thereof to begin within.  Obvious they know they are "lacking" and take take take in a fashion that would be considered greedy, based on a need to feed.  The need to feed on others in order to find that which fills whatever void they have.  Little do they know and take the time to realize whatever is needed to fill that void they already posses it.  They are either to lazy or slow to take the time and find it.  Instead they envy others not realizing what's meant for someone else isn't necessarily for them, and it may just end up being a curse rather than a blessing.  In the root of those feelings lie a lot of pain and maybe insecurity as well as the need to be accepted.  Talented and cool rarely have a need to be accepted like or have an array of friends.

   I believe the Bible says that money is the root of all evil therefore I think it would be fair to say that the evil associated with greed and envy comes directly from money or the lust of it. WB
