Christianity and Islam are old cousins in Biblical terms. This goes back to Abraham and his illegitimate son Ishmael who was the son of his servant Hagar. Abraham did not believe that God would give him a son as promised and Sarah sent Hagar into Abraham to sleep with him.
Later on God did give Sarah and Abraham a son named Isaac. This son was the son God asked Abraham to sacrifice on the alter. Ishmael was the first born son but was never recognized by Sarah as such and Sarah eventually banished Hagar and Ishmael. This of course is a quick summarization of the story.
Isaac was the line that eventually lead to the birth of Jesus Christ. Ishmael was the line of which the prophet Mohamed eventually came from. Both religions believe in God or Jehovah; however, Islam does not see Jesus as the son of God.
This is maybe why people who are uniformed get confused about the two religions.
In Christianity and Islam, man communicate with God through
prayer. Both Christianity and Islam use aids such as prayer beads. The Holy Rosary for the Catholic, tasbih for Muslim.
Both religion oppose same sex marriage and follow scriptural
law relating marriage.
Isaac (Christians) and Ishmail (Muslims) were brothers. They only see God differently. It is written that they will dwell together. So, where there are brothers you can not avoid a mix up
both religions have a horrible track record throughout history. both worship a god only by faith without any real proof. both religions have no definite understanding of their books . both religions want to control their followers .
Both are fear based religions with common roots.
Both of the are institutionalized religions, they have religious leaders who dictate what the followers must believe and do or not do.
Both religions have committed ungodly acts in the name of God.
They have tortured and killed many innocent people who either disagree with their religion or refuse to follow them. They have punished thousands for offending God, as they believe God like humans is weak enough to be hurt by actions of man.
Both religions are monotheist religions.

Why did Abraham banish Ishmael (Genesis 21:14)?Jacob's sons even though they are born through the maid servants of Leah and Rachel got the right to be called Jacob's sons and become the patriarchs. Then why did Ishmael refused to inherit the blessings promised to Abraham?

Without the Jewish religion Christianity would have gone the way of so many savior beliefs, relegated to a back room, sitting on a museum storage shelf, collecting dust. And if it were not for one single man, a mortal man and a Jew, Christianity would be on that shelf, molding with the ages, but...
