Which Smart Phone should I buy?

My contract is up soon and I want to buy a smart phone. There seems to be so many on the market at the moment, which one will give me most for my money. Most people I know have an Iphone but is it really that cost effective, or just for show. I don't want my phone for show I want it to be functional and reliable. Any thoughts?

An android based phone is what you should go for. I have just purchased the Samsung Google Nexus S and find it fantastic. I'm using it now to answer your question. My previous phone was the HTC Google Nexus which is now used by my wife.

I think you should definitely wait a few more months if you can.  The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) just ended, and many amazing phones were revealed.  Wait for some of these to make it to market, and you'll have a phone that won't depreciate for a while. If I had to pick one of the best candidates, I would get the HTC Thunderbolt.

I have the Evo 4G by Sprint and I have not ever had a problem with it.  I would say it superceeds the Iphone 4G but I am not sure about the newer GalaxyS phones by Sprint.  I think they have a better screen resolution.

Agreed with slc334... most of the current phones are about to be outdated already, but... if you have to have one right now right now... I vote for the Droid X.

I-phones definately cost too much for what they offer. And android phone would be a cheaper choice and will offer you almost the same features as i-phone. But the difference between i-phone and another smartphone is the Apple Store. Apple Store got thousands of applications to download in compare with other smart phones. So if you are looking for entertainment i-phone 4 is the best choice. If you are looking for pure work go for an android

I love my iphone but ATT has not been the best.  Now that Verizon is introducing Iphone, I think that is the ticket.

The best phone which are not just for show but give pleasure to their user are the ones based on Google's operating system, as today, most of the things that we use on internet are from Google, so it has tight integration in their Android platform. Future about mobile is its multifunctionality thanks to the new apps being boarded on these mini-computers, so i would suggest you to go for a high-end android phone with minimum spec of 1GHz, HD Capacitive Touch Screen, and Accelerometer etc., this will provide you a value for money future proof phone that is not for show but for the purpose.
