Write and after you finish writing, write some more.  All you need to do on hubpages is write until you can't anymore.  Just like I am continuing to write this comment for absolutely no reason, continue to write and publish hubs.  You will see.

I can't say I'm a massive success or anything. But I think it depends entirely on your approach and exactly what you are aiming to get out of it.

I'm not really too fussed about earning money, so I don't write the typical articles of how to use keywords and using SEO for articles and how to earn money online and all that. I just write about things that interest me and that I hope are of use to some people out there, even if it is often a niche or a small number of people, as those are often the things with fewer resources anyway!

My advice would be to stick with it, write about what truly interests you and stuff you think might be of value to someone, and get involved throughout the site. I quite enjoy answering questions, browsing forums and other people's hubs. However if your main reason is for a significant income or similar then hopefully someone who knows more about that will answer your question too! Also there are plenty of hubs on that.

Good luck with whatever you decide! smile

Start hubbing! Thats what you came here for! I've found the best way to learn about the site is to just jump right in and learn as you go! There are some great hubs out there that offer hints and tips and don't forget the learning center! Some VERY useful information on there!

    Most of all, have fun!!

Start writing and start reading and commenting. Soon it will become addicting. You will find some great people on here and you will seek their stuff out as will they seek your stuff out. Hubpages is a great community to be part of. Good Luck!

Read both the FAQ and the Learning Center.  There is so much good info there, reading those sections will give you an advantage over other newbies and even some longer time users who never bothered to look at those sections.

It's especially important to know site rules now in the wake of the Google index changes that happened in late February.  The site is marking a lot of weaker content as needing revision, so it helps to do as much "right" as you can the first time.

Don't write without thinking about why and how what you are saying is useful to others.  Remember that the first people to answer a question might just be the most enthusiastic and not the most knowledgeable.  And if earnings are your goal, be patient.
