    Loving each other
    and trusting each other.
Actually,I believe that trust is far more important than love...
It is possible to love someone without trusting him/her
But this kind of relationships will suffer
    Trust is foundation .
And the most difficult and rare to obtain.

I believe, without being elaborated; the three most important things in a relation are: communication, coherence and sparkle. If you can keep up at least one of these in hard times you can manage most relations.

the most important thing in a relationship is honesty. Then understanding each other and forgiving each other are also very crucial in any relationship. It can help the relationship last long and meaningful.

A genuine, passionate emotional and physical love comprised of appreciation, respect, friendship, and a bonded team partnership, all intertwined in harmony, and fueled by a natural high between two people that never, ever loses that initial vitality and quality of essence, substance, chemistry and romance enchanted upon that first realization of all the here-above.
Your love should nourish and always grow, with such a bond that even through tragedy you always know each others best.
Love is never about being with the perfect partner, it's about seeing your partner perfect even through their imperfections, and knowing you want to grow old with them. True loving partners are not together because they need each other, but because they genuinely WANT each other..
    Hope that answers your question...wink

Big question! If I had to choose one element it would be faith.  I think we have to have faith in ourselves, each other and the relationship.  Out of this faith can grow wonderful things like trust, honesty, hopes and dreams.

The genuine love covers it all... It's not just about the romance, it's about being the best for each other's soul.

I think the two most important things in a relationship are trust and mutual affections. You must trust a person's intentions with you when you're told of them, as well as you must feel the same way about them, and the relationship as they do, in order for it to work in the long run. :]

trust is the basic and most important thing in a relationship. A relationship don't work when there is no trust between two.

I think the most important thing in a relationship is communication. If you can not communicate with your partner you will be estranged. It is only the question of time

contentment, Trust, love and understanding are the most important thing in a relationship, love itself won't work without trust, vice versa. YOU NEED to combine the four for a long lasting relationship. Cheers!

Seriously? One Thing? There are so many parts of the puzzle that is your relationship. I agree with so many important points here but if I have to pick one, I go with Faith.

For me Faith covers the Trust and the Believe in the Future and for me a relationship means to plan your life with somebody else, so you need to have Faith in that particular Person.

all of the above. So hard to choose the most important thing. I think the answer is as much a mystery as time itself. Right now, I would choose patience. Then again, just now Hope came to mind. And now together pops in. Suddenly as mentioned earlier trust is on the forefront.

Trust is a big thing for me in my relationship. More then anything there needs to me trust. Without trust there is no relationship.

    Honesty.

Without honesty there can be no Trust.
Without trust there can be no Loyalty
Without loyalty there is no feeling of Love & Devotion
Without love & devotion there is no real Intimacy.
Without intimacy there is no feeling of Emotional Security.

Honesty is (the foundation) for all worthwhile relationships.
